The Institute offers six specializations in Integrated M.Sc. at Undergraduate level, three specializations in M.Sc – PhD at Postgraduate level and six specializations in PhD at Doctorate level.
At the Undergraduate level the institute offers Integrated M.Sc program in six specializations. Admission to the program will be on the basis of marks acquired by the candidate in 10+2 or equivalent with minimum 60% marks. Candidates seeking admission to Integrated M.Sc program are required to appear for NEST.
NISER offers M.Sc – PhD at the Postgraduate level. Applying candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in the relevant discipline. Selection will be made after the candidate appears for Joint Admission Test (JAM) or Joint Entrance Screening Test (JEST).
The Institute offers six specializations in PhD at the Doctorate level. Candidates should have a Master’s degree in the relevant discipline to apply for these courses. Final Selection is made on the basis of marks obtained in the National Level Eligibility Test such as NET CSIR – UGC, ICMR, DBT, ICAR and GATE.
INSPIRE (Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research) program was launched by Department of Science & Technology, Government of India. All admitted students receive a scholarship of INR 5,000 per month which should be sufficient to meet the course fees and boarding costs. Students also receive a contingency grant of INR 20,000 per year to facilitate their academic pursuits.
