The personal interview at DSIMS carries 30% weightage and the PET score carries 70% weightage in the final merit list.

Eligibility Criteria

Master’s degree or equivalent professional degree recognised by the University of Mumbai with minimum 55% aggregate or equivalent Grade B on the UGC 7-point scale.

Candidates with UGC-NET, CSIR NET, SLET, GATE, INSPIRE, or JRF from a recognised apex body are exempt from the UoM PhD Entrance Test.

All other eligible candidates must appear for and qualify the University of Mumbai PhD Entrance Test (PET) at the notified venue.

Final-year master’s students may apply provisionally, subject to completing the qualifying degree before the interview round.

Admission Process

Apply online at dsims.org.in, download and print the application form, and submit it with required documents and INR 2,000 application fee to the institute.

Candidates not holding NET/GATE/JRF qualifications must appear for the University of Mumbai PhD Entrance Test (PET) at the notified venue and qualify as per UoM norms.

Attend the personal interview conducted at DSIMS, Malad West, Mumbai as per the schedule notified by the institute.

Final merit list is prepared based on PET score (70% weightage) and PI performance (30% weightage) and published at dsims.org.in.

Successful candidates must complete documentation, submit required certificates, and pay the programme fee at DSIMS to confirm the seat.

Ques. What is the total fee for DSIMS PhD Management?

Ans. The total fee for the PhD in Management at DSIMS, Mumbai, is INR 89,015 for the full programme duration of 3 to 6 years. This includes a refundable library deposit of INR 5,000 returned at programme completion. An application fee of INR 2,000 is payable separately. NET/GATE/JRF qualified candidates may additionally access the UGC/CSIR Junior Research Fellowship, which provides monthly financial support throughout the research period.

Ques. Is the UoM PET mandatory for DSIMS PhD admission?
