SPJIMR Mumbai concluded its 2021 placement drive for the PGDM batch in a record time of two days, over 75 new recruiters participated in the placement drive, who offered an average package worth INR. 25.86 LPA.
During the placement drive, the consulting sector emerged as the top recruiting sector with offers rolled out to 36 per cent of the batch of 233 participants. Some of the top recruiters were- Colgate-Palmolive, Hindustan Unilever, L'Oréal, Marico, Mondelez, Procter & Gamble, Barclays, Citibank, Flipkart, Amazon, Boston Consulting Group, Capgemini ELITE, Mahindra GMC, RPG, and etc.

The institute released its placement report for the PGDM batch of 2021. A total of 131 companies came to the institute to offer job roles to 233 participants. The Average annual salary stood at INR. 25.86 LPA, the Median annual salary came in at INR. 25 LPA, with over 26% of the batch securing offers in excess of INR. 30 LPA, and over 80% in excess of INR. 20 LPA.
Also, the institute witnessed excellent growth in the number of companies visiting the campus with 75 new recruiters.
Under the discipline of PGPM, the institute witnessed a drop in the salary packages in comparison to the previous year.
With regards to the sector-wise placements, the FMCG sector emerged as the major recruiter as always, making offers to close to 18% of the batch. Top recruiters in this sector included Asian Paints, Colgate-Palmolive, Hindustan Unilever, L'Oréal, Marico, Mondelez, Procter & Gamble and RB.
The consulting companies rolled out offers to 84 students, the highest ever reported by SPJIMR for a batch. The participant companies included Accenture Strategy, Bain & Co., Boston Consulting Group, Deloitte USI, EY, GEP, KPMG and PwC US Advisory among others.
BFSI and E-commerce sectors closely followed the trend and companies such as Amazon, American Express, Axis Capital, Barclays, Citibank, Flipkart, Nomura, PayTM and Grofers (among others) participated in the process. Leading recruiters such as Capgemini ELITE, Mahindra GMC, RPG and Tata Administrative Services, offered general Management roles.
Around 50% of the batch bagged PPO/PPI opportunities through the autumn internship and corporate competitions with leading corporates such as Amazon, Boston Consulting Group, Colgate-Palmolive, Hindustan Unilever, Procter & Gamble and Tata Administrative Services among others.

The institute has witnessed growth in the Average CTC and Median CTC offered to students. The constant increase in the salaries is a great sign for the institute and the future batch that are going to graduate from the institute.

The students received offers from different sectors and companies visiting for the same in the final placement drive conducted for the management program at SPJIMR. The institute saw major participation coming from companies as well as the students sitting for different sectors.
As per the data presented above, it can be seen that the major participation came from the Consulting sector i.e 28%. GM & Leadership and FMCG also made offers to students with 26% and 23% respectively. IT & Analytics sector also performed relatively better as compared to its previous performance.

Huge participation of domestic as well as international companies was seen with a positive mindset and their interaction with students was also tremendous. Major offers were made to students with many improvements as compared to last year.
A total of 44 new recruiters was witnessed by the institute. Consulting and Finance sectors were favorite this season. Every sector witnessed improvement with increased numbers of companies coming to hire.

The institute recorded a high placement record for its one-year PGPM program. The average salary of the batch stood at INR 18.38 LPA and the Highest salary has shot up to INR 43.06 LPA.

SPJIMR Mumbai also conducts Autumn Internships for its students. The batch of 2020 has successfully participated in these internships. A total of 88 companies were involved in the Internship.
The Autumn Placement Process took place virtually and was conducted across a combination of platforms like Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Cisco WebEx and Amazon Chime. Real-world systems and processes like group discussions and interview panels were replicated virtually through unique features across the different platforms.

The SPJIMR autumn internship process saw participation from 88 recruiters, who provided over 268 offers to 236 participants across different industries such as BFSI, E-commerce, FMCGs, Pharmaceuticals and Consulting.
The median compensation for offers with stipends for the two-month internship clocked in at a remarkable INR 2,40,000 with the average stipend rising above INR 2,01,000. More than 60 per cent of the batch received offers of INR 2,00,000 and above
The season saw 61 new recruiters, which included Allianz Investment Management, Invesco Mutual Fund, ICICI Prudential AMC and Prione.
The FMCG and E-commerce continued to be the most dominant sectors in terms of the number of hires with 33% and 15% of the participants placed in these sectors respectively.
