About SPJIMR PGDM

SPJIMR teaches a two-year, full-time PGDM at its campus in Andheri West, Mumbai. The institute holds AACSB, AMBA and EQUIS accreditation and stands #8 in Collegedunia's MBA ranking 2026. It took #20 in the NIRF management ranking 2025. Every student lives on campus, and 240 seats are open to Indian students. The full course costs INR 24.88 Lakhs, and that price already covers a basic hostel room. You get in on a CAT or GMAT score, an SPJIMR form and an interview. The CAT cutoff is 85 percentile overall. All of the Class of 2026 was placed, at an average of INR 33.75 LPA.

SPJIMR PGDM Fees

The total fees with mess is INR 27.28 Lakhs and the fees without mess is INR 24.88 Lakhs. The programme fee of INR 24.86 Lakhs covers teaching and a basic hostel room. SPJIMR fixes this fee and calls it indicative, so it can change for a new batch. You pay INR 2,000 once with the form. Mess is charged apart, about INR 1.20 Lakhs a year.

SPJIMR PGDM Admission Dates 2027

CAT 2026 forms close on 15 Sep 2026 and the exam is on 29 Nov 2026. SPJIMR opens its own form in Sep 2026 and takes it till the end of Nov 2026. Interview calls go out for Jan 2027 and Feb 2027, and classes start in Jun 2027. You need a CAT score written this year, so an older score does not work.

SPJIMR PGDM Eligibility

You need a bachelor's degree with at least 50% marks in any subject. On CAT you need 85 percentile overall and 75 percentile in each section. Freshers can apply, and so can students with up to five years of work. SPJIMR reads a GMAT score from the last three years as well. Clearing the cutoff only makes you eligible; the form decides the call.

SPJIMR PGDM Admission Process

SPJIMR shortlists on your whole profile, not on the exam score alone. It reads your Class 10, Class 12 and degree marks, your work and what you did outside class. You then sit an interview in one of four cities. There are no quota seats, so every seat is on merit.

SPJIMR PGDM Cutoff

The CAT cutoff is 85 percentile overall and 75 percentile in each section. These are the least scores SPJIMR asks for, and the call still comes on your profile. A GMAT score works in place of CAT. Students who clear the cutoff but write a thin form do not get a call.

The Mirae Asset Foundation gives INR 5 Lakhs each to two first-year students every year. SPJIMR also gives a merit-cum-means waiver on the teaching part of the fee. You apply for that one in July, after you join. A panel checks your family income, your marks and your record before it decides.

SPJIMR PGDM Ranking

SPJIMR stands #8 in Collegedunia's MBA ranking 2026 and #20 in the NIRF management ranking 2025. It holds AACSB, AMBA and EQUIS accreditation, which few Indian schools hold together. NIRF ranks on data the institute files every year. Collegedunia ranks on fees, placements and student reviews.

SPJIMR PGDM Course Structure

The first year covers the core subjects and the non-classroom projects. You pick two specialisations from finance, marketing, information management and operations. The second year adds electives, the specialisations and a global module you may choose. Abhyudaya and DoCC put you with a child mentee and a village project outside class.

Should you pick PGDM at SPJIMR?

This course suits students who want a consulting, finance or marketing job in Mumbai and can live on campus for two years.

Pick it if:
You want a consulting job: consulting took 40% of the offers made to the Class of 2026, and McKinsey and BCG hire here.
You want a marketing job with the big consumer firms: HUL, P and G and Nestle come back to hire from this campus every year.
You cannot pay hostel rent on top of the fee: the programme fee already covers a basic hostel room, and only mess is charged apart.
You have a strong record but an average score: SPJIMR reads the whole form, so the exam cutoff is a floor and not the bar.
Skip it if:
You are counting on a top offer: the batch has 356 students, so the median sits well below the highest offer.
You are paying the whole fee yourself: the full course costs INR 24.88 Lakhs, more than most schools in this league charge.
You want to stay at home in Mumbai: every student lives on campus, because the PGDM is a fully residential programme.
You will apply only after the CAT result: SPJIMR closes its form in Nov 2026, weeks before the score comes out.
Counsellor's advice
If you want a consulting or marketing job in Mumbai and can pay the full fee, send this form in early. If money is tight, ask for the Mirae Asset Foundation scholarship in year one and keep a cheaper school in hand.
PGDM Eligibility
Degree needed: A bachelor's degree in any subject with at least 50% marks.
Exam score: A CAT or GMAT score. On CAT you need 85 percentile overall.
Section cutoff: You also need 75 percentile in each of the three CAT sections.
Work experience: Freshers can apply, and so can students with up to five years of work.
Score year: SPJIMR reads a CAT score from the same year as your form, or a GMAT score from three years back.
PGDM Admission Process
Write the exam: CAT 2026 is on 29 Nov 2026. A GMAT score from the last three years also counts.
Fill the SPJIMR form: The form opens in Sep 2026 and closes at the end of Nov 2026. The form fee is INR 2,000.
Profile shortlist: SPJIMR reads your Class 10, Class 12 and degree marks, your work and your achievements.
Interview: Calls come for Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru and Delhi in Jan 2027 and Feb 2027.
Offer and fee: Offers come in Mar 2027, and you keep the seat by paying the first part of the fee.

Will your CAT score get you a call from SPJIMR?

Pick the part of the score you want to check. The cutoff ranges are the published minimums for this course.

CAT score
CAT overall percentile
85 percentile or more: you clear the overall cutoff, and your form goes to the reading panel.
80 to 84.9 percentile: short of the cutoff. A GMAT score from the last three years is the other way in.
Below 80 percentile: not this year on CAT. Write it again or send a GMAT score.
CAT section percentile
75 percentile or more in each section: you clear the section cutoff on CAT.
70 to 74.9 percentile in one section: short of the cutoff, even with a high overall score.
Below 70 percentile in a section: not this year. One weak section closes the door.
EDITOR'S NOTE

The cutoff only gets your form read. SPJIMR then scores your Class 10, Class 12 and degree marks, your work and your achievements, so a plain form with a high score still misses the call.

MDI Gurgaon charges more and pays less on average, and it asks for a higher percentile. If your score clears both, SPJIMR is the better seat; if it clears only MDI Gurgaon, take that one.
In short
IMT Ghaziabad costs less but its average pay is about half of this page's. If you clear the SPJIMR cutoff, apply here first and keep IMT Ghaziabad as the backup.
In short
IMI New Delhi asks for a higher percentile and pays about INR 12 LPA less on average. If you get calls from both, take SPJIMR and keep IMI New Delhi as the second call.
In short
K J Somaiya takes a lower percentile and charges less, but its average pay is under half of this page's. If your score is short of 85 percentile, K J Somaiya is the seat you can reach.

FAQs on SPJIMR PGDM

Short answers to what students ask before they apply.

How do I get admission to this course?
Write CAT or GMAT, then fill the SPJIMR form before the last date in Nov 2026. SPJIMR reads your whole profile and calls the shortlist for an interview in Jan 2027 and Feb 2027. Offers come in Mar 2027.
What is the full fee for the course?
The full 2-year fee is INR 24.88 Lakhs, and that already covers a basic hostel room. With mess it comes to INR 27.28 Lakhs. Both totals sit in the fee block above.
Is the hostel charged apart from the fee?
No. The programme fee covers teaching and a basic hostel room, and every student lives on campus. Only mess and personal costs are charged apart, about INR 1.20 Lakhs a year.
What CAT percentile do I need?
You need 85 percentile overall and 75 percentile in each section. That only makes you eligible. The checker above shows what each range means for your call.
Does SPJIMR take a GMAT score?
Yes. A GMAT score from the last three years works in place of CAT. A CAT score must be from the same year as your form, so an older CAT score is of no use here.
Can I apply as a fresher?
Yes. Freshers can apply, and so can students with up to five years of work. You need a bachelor's degree in any subject with at least 50% marks.
Which scholarships can cut this fee?
The Mirae Asset Foundation award gives INR 5 Lakhs to students whose family income is below INR 8 Lakhs a year. SPJIMR also gives a merit-cum-means waiver on the teaching fee. The calculator above shows your net fee.

How was the interview experience at the SPJIMR PGDM course for information management?

Anumita Ghosestudied at S. P. Jain Institute of Management and Research

For SPJIMR, there are two rounds of interviews. These are both group interviews, with the first one focusing on inquiries related to your chosen field of expertise and the second round focusing on your morals and values.

In my friend’s case, no questions about information management were asked, but there were times when inquiries about the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, and other hot subjects in this industry were made. It is best to arrive prepared according to your chosen specialization and to have some knowledge of the other specializations, such as finance, operations, and marketing. Everyone in the group was required to express their opinion on a particular supply chain problem, regardless of the field they chose to study. There are no domain-specific questions in the second round.

What is the difference if I choose FMS (Delhi), JBIMS (Mumbai) or SJSOM-IIT Bombay over IIM-B, SPJIMR and other such institutes that charge hefty for MBA courses?

Aastha Shrimali
Advait JoshiLives in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India

Choosing a B-school can be a tricky decision especially when it comes to ROI. I understand that ROI is one of the most important factors when it comes to MBA courses since funding your education with loans come with its own set of challenges. But the institutes that you have mentioned above certainly surpass the challenges since they belong to the tier 1 category.

You might come across articles and blogs stating that FMS or JBIMS do not provide a typical MBA environment but for me, that discussion does not even make sense. What is an MBA environment after all? You spent 2 years of your life at the campus and wish to land a good job. FMS, JBIMS, and IIT Bombay all three have good market reputations, they home the best candidates and charge minimal fees. So, if ROI is even a little bit of a concern for you, go for these colleges without any second thought or regret.

Does SPJIMR have a different course structure and calendar than the IIMs and other top B schools? If so, is it better?

Hardik NagarLives in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India

There are a few differences in the course calendar of SPJIMR and the IIMs that you should be aware of.

The major difference is that SPJIMR's flagship 2-year MBA course has Autumn Internship while IIMs have Summer Internship. In Autumn Internship, you will have completed most of your first-year B-school knowledge, which is a plus point when applying for corporate internships. Additionally, SPJIMR's famous Sem-III, which is a semester for Specialization courses, would have been completed by then. During this semester, you will undergo live projects which is like a near-internship experience and helps you a lot in your actual internship. However, this can keep you away from interacting with students from other B-Schools, unlike in the case of the Summer Internship. During the Autumns Internship selection process, roles are Specialization Specific, and having completed Sem-III restricts the roles you can take outside of your specialization.

With the completion of the Autumn Internship, the final placement season is usually 3/4 months away, giving companies time to roll out PPI/PPO wisely and allowing students to choose prudently between PPI/PPO and the option to be part of Final placements. However, this can leave students with less time for preparation for finals if they don't get PPI/PPO or reject those.

There are also a few minor differences in the course calendar. For example, in the summer, SPJIMR has Social Internship, whereas IIMs have a corporate internship. Additionally, in the mid-second year, SPJIMR students fly to the US for Fast-Track Learning, which is not available in IIMs. The second year for SPJIMR students is mostly busy with Sem-III then GFT then Autumns Internship. Thus SPJIMR students take part in corporate competitions (likes of LIME, Mahindra War Room, TBLA, etc.) during the first year itself, although this is just a norm. SPJIMR also offers numerous Minors (viz. Analytics, Finance, Consulting, Strategy, etc.). But the Analytics semester overlaps with International Exchange Semester. This means students can either do a Minor in SPJIMR OR an International Exchange at Foreign Universities.

Overall, while the timing of the internships is different, SPJIMR's Autumn Internship can be an advantage for you, and the live projects in Sem-III can provide you with valuable experience. However, you should also consider the minor differences and how they may affect your interests and goals.

Is a 4-year tri city BBA course of SPJ better than a 5-year IPM at IIM Indore?

Charu MalikStudied at Integrated Programme in Management, IIM Indore (2021)

IPM does not offer a BBA degree but you will receive a BA degree for your undergrad coursework (Foundations in Management). The subjects taught at the undergraduate level are vastly different from those taught in any other BBA program. Any decision based on an assumption about the IPM curriculum can land you in big trouble.

Returning to the question, I'm not familiar with the specifics of the four-year Tri-City programme, but I'm sure it entails a lot of learning from an institute like SPJ.

  • Having said that, IPM and the aforementioned course can be compared on the same scale.
  • Two degrees from IIM Indore (one of which is the regular MBA that other PGP participants are entitled to) is an incredible value that cannot be matched by any other BBA programme in the country.
  • Other benefits include the environment and opportunities that come with being a student at an IIM.

Comparisons can be made when other IIMs launch courses similar to IPM, which does not appear to be happening anytime soon. Until then, IPM would be a clear winner in terms of undergrad management education.
