In the first year, all students undergo the summer internship placement process. If an offer of employment is not made during the internship, the student can opt for final placements. The average salary is 25.08 LPA in 2021. 108 recruiters visited the campus. All 100% of the students are placed.
XLRI has the best course in Asia for Human Resource Management and enjoys an excellent reputation in the industry. The college has a smaller batch size compared to many others which is a plus point. Our interview dates were between February and March-end. The results were released on 20th May 2020. However, this was majorly due to the effect of the pandemic and results are usually out in the second week of April.
There is just one word for placements - superb. The name XLRI is a brand in itself and recruiters are going to line up and fight for a slot to hire from campus. So placement should be the least of anyone's worries while visiting. The best names in management consulting such as McKinsey, BCG, Bain as well as in Investment Banking such as JPMC and Goldman Sachs visit every year. Be it FMCGs, fintech firms, product management roles, anything, and everything is available. Not even a single student goes unplaced. The median and average packages are both close to 24 lacs per annum.
XLRI has always been among the top-five B-Schools of India and the best B-School when it comes to HR. Not to mention, despite being in HR, the opportunities offered are wide-ranging when it comes to placements and you are open to sitting for almost all roles offered on campus. Placements, coupled with great brand value and a very strong alumni network make XLRI a top-notch institute that can provide the best exposure any MBA can give. The culture is also vibrant, with great committees to work for, great peers to learn from who come from the best undergrad colleges in the country, and professors who are aware of state-of-the-art tools, techniques, and methodologies that can make one a desirable commodity in the industry. XLRI has a long legacy and is the oldest B-school in India, and almost all HRs in all big companies are from XLRI. Not just the HRs, but some of the best people who occupy the C-suite of corporations have gained their MBA from XL which gives it a unique edge over others.
The average package for the batch of 2019-2021 was 25.2 LPA. There were several new and old companies that came to the campus. 100% of students get placed in XLRI and in a record time of 2 days. Top consulting, banking, e-commerce and FMCG companies come every year for placements.
Admission process: XAT exam (December) group discussion and interviews (Feb-March). Good: Best college for HRM. it has the best faculty for core HR courses. Good culture and really talented peers. Great placements. Bad: The administration is inflexible.
Placements have always been the best in the country and 100%. All top companies visit the campus. Placement support from college is also excellent. The package is best among the top B schools. Companies exceed the number of students.
XLRI is a legacy, I have family members who have graduated from XLRI Jamshedpur. XLRI offers balanced learning of academics and industry. Professors here are the best in their domain. The campus albeit now conservative is still homely.
There is a saying in XLRI that translates to, "If you've reached XL, you'll definitely get placed". Even in the covid year, the institute saw an average package of 25 l p.a. with a median of 23 l p.a. which is an improvement from last year. Other than top consult companies, various HR, S&M and Prodman roles recruit from XLRI.
PGDHRM at XLRI Jamshedpur is not only a course, it is an identity to take pride in. Not only have eminent personalities once graced its hallowed corridors as students, but the institute has also always thrived to consistently uphold its legacy even after 70+ years. For an aspiring HR, this is truly the first choice, as it has been named the Best HR course in the Asia Pacific. The flagship 2-year full-time residential program offers admission through XAT, which usually takes place on the first Sunday of January. Thereafter, candidates are shortlisted for the next round via a cutoff score (for both overall and sectional). The pedagogy is majorly case-based and the faculty are all highly competent and experienced.
100% of the students are placed. Despite the COVID scenario, XLRI has managed to improve the average and the medium packages offered. Roles are offered across domains by top companies across sectors including FMCG, Pharma, IT, etc.
XLRI is the oldest B School in India offering courses for Business Management as well as Human Resource Management. The human resource management program at XLRI is the best HR program in Asia. XLRI is known to have a strong Alumni support known as 'XL Mafia'. I preferred joining XLRI over other converts because of brand value, presence of the finest faculties, placement records, infrastructure, culture, etc. The senior batch was also very supportive in providing honest reviews that helped me in making an informed decision. The admission process includes XAT followed by an asynchronous video interview, GD and WAT followed by a personal interview.
Placements are undoubtedly great. All the major companies hire from XLRI. Summer Internships are a great way to start a corporate career and that time is the most intense time as everyone vies for a PPO. They also have lateral and campus recruitment later in January to February, for which only second-year students are eligible. Placements have been 100% historically. "XL aaye ho to place to ho hi jaoge" is alout mantra. The average is around 25 lakhs. Companies like BCG, BAIN, AMAZON, MICROSOFT, GOOGLE, etc. hire every year.
Take a moment and search CHRO of any major company. There is a shockingly amazing chance that they'll be from XLRI. Now repeat this for as many companies as you want and you'll see the strength of XL mafia: alumni network. XLRI is one of the best management institutes and the undisputed leader in the labour education industry. The fees may seem like a lot but the placements thereafter justify it and the ROI is good.
Students have to mandatorily go for summer internships after completing one year in college selection for which happens somewhere in October. The final placements happen in two phases, with students having prior work experience eligible for the LRP process and the remaining students going through a CRP process.
The main aspect which I considered while choosing XLRI over other colleges was its excellent placement statistics and the variety of companies coming to the college. The first step in getting to XLRI is giving XAT examinations which usually happens in the first week of June after which if you clear the cutoff scores, you are called for a GDPI round and a merit list is published. The good aspects of this college are excellent professors, a very good and diverse peer group from whom you earn a lot, and excellent mentoring from seniors. One of the negative aspects is over interference of admin in some of the matters.
The placement opportunities that students get are ample. Year after year, the college has achieved cent percentage placements for its outgoing students, in some of the best organizations to work in, and the statistics have improved as well. For the current outgoing batch, the placement process was completed in two days, with 100% of the batch getting placed. The average salary was Rs. 25.08 lakhs and the median salary was Rs. 23 lakh per annum. The median for the top 10 percentile of the batch was Rs. 37.49 lakhs, and for the top 25th percentile, it was Rs. 34.80 lakh per annum. The highest domestic offer was Rs. 50 lakh per annum. 33.33 percentage of the students had received pre-placement offers. The final recruitment process had 108 recruiters making 370 offers, and there were 23 first-time recruiters as well.
XLRI conducts its own entrance examination for admission to its programmes. Every year, close to 75000 aspirants sit for XAT to secure seats in this esteemed organization. XLRI is ranked amongst the best B-schools in the country and is the oldest institute of its kind in the nation. The institute offers a master's degree in Business Management, Human Resource Management, and General Management. Other than XAT scores, people can also secure admission through GMAT scores. The cutoff for getting an interview call is around 94-95 percentile, with sectional cut-offs as well. Being the oldest B-school in the country, XLRI has a very strong alumni network. The programme is very well structured to give a complete perspective of different domains in the first year, and subsequently, make an informed decision in the second year while choosing a specialization. There are ample opportunities available for everyone to develop and it is upon students to make the best use of such opportunities.
The placements in the college are amongst the best in the nation. Our recruiters include consulting giants like BCG, Bain, McKinsey, and Accenture Strategy. FMCGs like P&G, HUL, ColPal, Mondelez are some other recruiters. IT giants like Amazon, Microsoft, Google also recruit from the college. The highest package is around 50-55 LPA, whereas the average is between 23-26 LPA. The college guarantees 100% placement to every student with the lowest of 18 LPA.
XLRI Jamshedpur is the oldest B-School in India. It is also one of the best colleges for MBA in the country and the absolute best college for HRM in South Asia. The placements are at par with the old IIMs in the country for both BM and HRM. XLRI has its own entrance exam called XAT, usually held in the first week of January. The results are out by the last week of January, followed by an online asynchronous interview and essays. The slot for GD and PI needs to be booked from February second week to the third week of March. I found about XLRI through the Times of India. Also, XLRI is the alma matter to multiple CEOs and CHROs around the globe.
