The PGDM-BA follows a weekend-intensive contact session format held at MDIs Gurugram campus. Candidates who cannot attend sessions at the Gurugram campus each weekend would find the delivery logistically difficult. PGDM-BM, the 1-year full-time residential programme, is the better fit for professionals willing to relocate to Gurugram for the programme duration.

Does entrepreneurial experience count towards the 3-year work requirement?

MDI Gurgaon requires 3 years of full-time post-qualification paid work experience. Only work acquired after completion of the Bachelors degree qualifies. Entrepreneurial ventures that can be substantiated with tax returns, GST registration, or formal incorporation documents are generally considered, but the admissions panel makes the final call at the interview stage. Freelance or part-time engagements are evaluated case by case.

Can a candidate use an older CAT score instead of a fresh GMAT?

MDI accepts CAT scores from the last 3 years and GMAT or XAT scores from the last 5 years for its executive programmes. This means a CAT 2023, 2024, or 2025 score is valid for applying to the 2026 batch. GMAT and XAT have a longer 5-year validity window. If no valid score is held, the candidate must appear for one of the accepted tests before applying.

How does PGDM-PPM admission work for government officers?

PGDM-PPM is a joint initiative between MDI Gurgaon and the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT). Admission for government nominees is coordinated through DoPT rather than the standard MDI admissions portal. Officers from organised services and professionals from multilateral agencies apply through their ministry or directly through MDIs executive admissions team. Sponsored nominees may receive fee support from their respective organisations or DoPT.

How does the executive batch placement compare with the flagship PGDM?

MDI Gurgaon Executive PGDM Eligibility

You need 50% marks in Class 10, Class 12 and your degree, and the degree must take at least 3 years. PGDM-BM also asks for 3 years of paid full-time work after the degree, and PGDM-PPM asks for 5. Work done before your degree does not count. You also need a valid CAT, XAT or GMAT score, unless DoPT sponsors you.

The PM Vidyalaxmi scheme takes 3% off the interest on a loan of up to INR 10 Lakhs if family income is up to INR 8 Lakhs. MDI publishes no fee waiver for either specialisation. SC and ST students with family income up to INR 2.5 Lakhs can apply to their state for a post-matric scholarship.
