Placement Experience :

Placements are good enough. 1. Student can seat for placement in 7th semester for BTech and 3rd semester for MTech. 3. Companies around 150 visits every year, such as Microsoft, Citi bank, JSW Steel, tata motors, Bajaj, Siemens, Schindler, Emerson, IOCL, Cognizant, blue star ABB, Eaton etc. 4. Highest package- 38 LPA (by Microsoft) Average package- 5.0 LPA 5. Placement percentage: around 85%

Remarks :

Good aspect: 1. Renowned college in Maharashtra state. 2. Good infrastructure. 3. Good ranking. 4. One of the oldest college in the country. 5. Good placements. 6. Location is quite good, at the heart of Pune city. 7. Availability of accommodation (Hostels). 8. Around 40+ clubs/groups which helps students for their overall development. 9. Many Curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities around the whole academic year. 10. Mess in the hostels provide extremely healthy and tasty food. Bad aspects: 1. Ranking and placements are falling every year. 2. Teachers are well educated (most of them have PhD's) but don't know how to deliver their knowledge to the students. 3. Campus is small and located in 3 different places (academic area, hostel and playground) 4. Students give more time for extra-curricular activities than academics. Admission process and dates: Admission through MHCET (15% seats are reserved through JEE mains) in the month of June-july

Placement Experience :

From the 6th semester, students become eligible for the placement. Companies like Microsoft, Wipro, Citi bank, Bajaj, Tata motors, Persistent, Cognizant, etc visit for the placement. The highest package offered goes up to 40 LPA. The percentage of students placed is 80-90 percent.

Remarks :

One of the reputed colleges in Maharashtra. It offers 9 UG courses/degrees. If you are going for computer science go and take it. Placement is really good when compared to other colleges. The admission process is based on the MH-CET merit basis. For higher branches like computer science, entc, mechanical your rank should be in <1000. Admissions start in the month of June. The reason for referring to this college is it gives a really good atmosphere, it has hundreds of clubs to join, four-five big events, regatta, DJ nights and all.

Placement Experience :

From the 7th semester, students become eligible for campus placements. In one year around 200+ companies visit COEP. For Metallurgy, there are 15-20 companies. The main companies which recruit Metallurgical engineering graduates are Bharat Forge, reliance, Kalyani, Tata Motors, Tata Steel, JSW, Vedanta resources, and many more. In 2020 the highest package was 32 LPA and for Metallurgy it was 10 LPA. If you consider overall college's performance then the placement percentage is 85% and for Metallurgy it's 80%.

Remarks :

College of Engineering Pune is one of the premier institute in India which is imparting quality education for the last 160 years. It is Asia's 3rd oldest Engineering college. It is situated at the center of the Pune, can say at the heart of the Pune. Pune railway station is very near to the college. Pune international airport is also near to COEP. COEP is a government Engineering college hence it accepts CET scores for admission. The main reason for choosing this college is the environment we get in colleges like COEP is very very different from other colleges. Here you can shape your personality.

Remarks :

I literally chose this course just because I want this college. But I'll never regret it. My course teaches how industry works, and which is required knowledge. About my course practical and the latest knowledge, industry visits are necessary. Events, fests are really nice and you should participate at least once. Connectivity is good as students from whole state and outside come here. Extra curricular activities helps student to find their hobbies and sometimes their future path too.

Placement Experience :

Around 90-95 % students in CS IT, ENTC streams get placed. Where as placements in other streams are relatively lower. The lowest placement is of B.Tech Planning, in which only 2 to 5 students got on campus placements last year in IT service based companies.

Remarks :

COEP is a popular college in Pune and is affiliated to Savitribai Phule University. The courses are accredited by NBA and the college also has a very good placement history in its courses offered. The college concentrates on technical fields as well as the ethos of a student, shaping them the best out of them.

Placement Experience :

A number of companies, such as Bajaj, MasterCard, Infosys, Microsoft, Maruti Suzuki, Capgemini, Accenture, and more than 50 companies take part in placement drives. The college is noted for its Alumni holding a good share in the technical fields and in the country. The Alumni network is a huge one and never misses to motivate the students. Startups are being planned by my friends and might put to work when college reopens. The E-Cell's support is notable in the college for the arrangements that they make for the students to come up with great ideas.

Ques. How good is college of engineering Pune?

● Top Answer By Sethuparvathy S on 20 Apr 21

Ans. This college is one of the best engineering colleges in Maharashtra but not good enough to be one of the best in the country. As far as the college is concerned, it is the 3rd oldest college in Asia and its buildings reflect that. However, on the inside, they are very well redesigned and well equipped. Overall, the campus has an area of 36 acres which is obviously smaller than other IITs and NITs that have 100-acre campuses. The college definitely has its own hostel but it is not big enough to house all students. Being autonomous, it definitely updates its curriculum regularly with industry requirements and has also won quite a few accolades for the same. As far as the crowd is concerned, you will see that most of the students are Maharashtrians coming from different parts of the state but it is a healthy mix of athletes, studious individuals, and people with different talents. Categories College of Engineering Pune Course Fee 1.62 - 2.58 lakh Placement Percentage 79.3% Highest CTC 20 LPA Average CTC 5 LPA Recruiting Companies Texas Instruments, Wipro, TCS, IBM, Accenture, Capgemini, etc. If you are keen on joining clubs, there are many like Robotics, Satellite, Drama, Writing and Radio. These are mainly spearheaded by students and you can join any of them based on your interest. There are also a number of fests like Tech fests, Sports fests, and other cultural festivals and all of them are quite popular. Labs are also fully functional and will usually cater to all your needs. Most instruments are functional, but you might find one or two that are bumpy here and there. The college has recruiting companies like HSBC, Qouvantis, and Mahindra to visit the college. However, with COVID 19, the situation might be a little different. While BVP is not in the top engineering colleges of India, it is decent enough for the opportunities it offers. You can apply here if you are looking to do so.Read more

Ques. Which one is best, IIIT Pune or COEP?

● Top Answer By Komal Chawla on 08 Apr 21

Ans. College Of Engineering Pune (COEP) would be a better choice than the Indian Institute of Information Technology, (Pune IIIT). However, both the colleges have their own specialities. IIIT Pune provides a good hostel and infrastructure facility. On another side, the College Of Engineering Pune has a good student environment and faculty.  The following table shows you the placement scenario of both IIIT Pune and College Of Engineering Pune.  Category IIIT Pune IIIT Vadodara Recruiters  Gojek, Amazon, L&T InfoTech, MAQ Software, TCS, Valuefy, Virtusa, Internshala, Oracle, Cisco, ElasticRun Amazon, Bajaj, Adani Group, Aditya Birla Capital, Altas, Anand Group, Ashok Leyland, Asian Paints, Bank of America, Blue Star Lowest Package  INR 3 LPA INR 3 LPA Average Package  INR 7.58 LPA INR 7 LPA Highest Package  INR 22 LPA INR 39.2 LPA If you compare IIIT Pune with College Of Engineering Pune, then later is a better choice between the two. As the latter has a good campus placement record. After completing the course students get placed in top companies. Therefore, you can join the College Of Engineering Pune as it provides better campus placement to its students than IIIT Pune.Read more

Ques. When comparing College of Engineering Pune and NIT Surathkal, which is better?

● Top Answer By Manoj Maurya on 01 Apr 21

Ans. According to my knowledge, College of Engineering, Pune is not that popular. When you do a basic google search, most suggestions say it is a good college. Many people have also compared it with VNIT Nagpur while a few also say that it is probably better than VNIT. When these two colleges are compared to NIT Surathkal, it makes NIT Surathkal the best. This institute ranks as one of the top 3 NITs in our country – NIT Trichy, NIT Warangal and NIT Surathkal.  If placements are your concern, they are pretty good. Additionally, the average packages are also increasing every year. Even if your grades are low, you will still land a job in some company. However, It is advised to study hard if you want a plethora of opportunities to be open for you.  There are quite a few top notch companies that pay higher salaries every year.  Most packages are 10+ and increasing even now. Here are some basic facts about both the colleges -  Categories College of Engineering Pune NIT Surathkal Course Fee 1.62-2.58 lakh 5.45 lakh Placement Percentage 79.3% 93-95% Highest CTC 13 LPA 15-20 LPA Average CTC 4 LPA 6-7 LPA Recruiting Companies Oracle, Microsoft, Infosys, ZS Associates, etc. DRDO, Wipro, HP, GE, Moog India, Goldman Sachs, Google, etc. As of 2021, the highest international package offered was INR 83 LPA with one student receiving a domestic package of INR 49 LPA, with more than 286 different companies visiting the institute. The top recruiters here include Oracle, Uber, Amazon, Goldman Sachs and Google. A major plus point is also the beach is quite close to the college. If you are looking for a drawback, it is probably the food. You will find a north Indian and south Indian mess but the food is nothing to boast about. Overall, you will definitely have a good time at NIT Surathkal. You will have to research a little more about Pune.Read more

Ques. Which one should I prefer: COEP IT or IIIT Pune CSE?

● Top Answer By Rishikesh Kumar on 23 Mar 21

Ans. Between the choices given, COEP IT is definitely better. One of my seniors from schools attends the institute. Here are some reasons why you should choose COEP IT.  COEP IT: It is pretty similar to COEP CSE. Just some subjects change as the students approach the final year.  Both IT and CSE branches are the same as far as teachers and placements are concerned. There is one department for both CSE and IT, not two separate ones. The table shows a brief overview of the institutions. Particulars COEP IIIT Pune Median Salary Rs. 7 lakhs Rs. 7.58 lakhs Highest Salary Rs. 39.2 lakhs Rs. 22 lakhs Fees Rs. 1.62 lakhs Rs. 9.17 lakhs From the question, it’s not clear whether you meant I Square IT Pune or the newly established IIIT Pune. The former does not have a good reputation and the latter still does not have a campus. Compared to these, COEP is a far better alternative.Read more

Ques. What are some good engineering colleges in Pune?

● Top Answer By Sandip Pal on 19 Feb 21

Ans. The College of Engineering Pune is among the best institutes in Pune. The architecture dates back to 1854. The campus was planned by British-American architect and planner Christopher Charles Benninger. The architecture is such that you will feel like you are in Hogwarts, especially in the main building on the south campus.  Campus: The College of Engineering, Pune campus has a separate playground, and the hostel complex can accommodate approximately 3,000 to 4,000 candidates.  There are two sides, i.e. the north side and the south side, namely. Though there is huge traffic around the college, it is hardly a disturbance. Environment: The environment in the college is very welcoming. You will always find people studying. You will find them, especially in the Civil drawing hall.  Library: The library has a great stock of books. It has books as old as the college itself.  Tie-ups: The college has tie-ups with institutions that will enable you to have resources for free which otherwise are usually paid for. Internet Facilities: In addition to these, the campus has free wifi and the allowance is 1GB every day varying from 100kbps to 10mbps. Extra-curricular Activities: The institute has one of the oldest boat clubs.  The college also has an annual festival called Regatta. There are also many other things worth maintaining about the campus. If you want to know more google about the campus. You can also visit the campus in person.Read more
