NKOCET Admission Dates 2026

NKOCET B.Tech admissions for 2026-27 are driven by MHT CET or JEE Main scores and DTE Maharashtra Centralised Admission Process (CAP). No college-level entrance test is required. M.Tech admissions use GATE scores followed by DTE Maharashtra M.Tech CAP counselling.

NKOCET Courses and Fees

NKOCET offers six B.Tech branches, six Lateral Entry B.Tech branches, and M.Tech in four specialisations. Fees are structured by quota and vary significantly — SC/ST students pay a fraction of the general category fee under Maharashtra government norms.

CSE is the largest B.Tech branch with 180 seats. AI and Data Science is a newer branch that has seen growing demand among Solapur region aspirants. The SC/ST fee at NKOCET is among the lowest in Maharashtra’s private engineering sector at INR 57,912 over four years.

NKOCET Admission Process

All B.Tech and M.Tech admissions at NKOCET are governed by DTE Maharashtra through centralised counselling. There is no institute-level entrance test or management quota for government-quota seats.

B.Tech Admission

Candidates must have passed 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, along with Chemistry or Biotechnology or a Technical Vocational Subject, with a minimum 45% aggregate (40% for reserved categories). A non-zero MHT CET (PCM group) or JEE Main score is required.

• Seat allotment is based on MHT CET percentile; JEE Main score is used for tie-breaking.
• Maharashtra state domicile candidates are eligible for 85% state quota seats under DTE norms.
• NKOCET has an autonomous status, allowing it to conduct internal assessments independently within the Solapur University framework.
• SC, ST, OBC, EWS, VJ-NT, SBC, and PwD categories receive reservation as per Maharashtra government norms.

B.Tech Lateral Entry

Diploma holders in the relevant engineering branches may apply for direct second-year entry. The minimum aggregate is 45% in the diploma (40% for reserved categories). Admission is through the DTE Maharashtra DSY CAP process.

M.Tech Admission

M.Tech candidates must hold a BE/B.Tech in the relevant discipline and possess a valid GATE or Maharashtra PGCET score. Admission is through DTE Maharashtra M.Tech CAP counselling. GATE 2026 result was declared on March 19, 2026 and counselling is ongoing as of August 2026.

NKOCET Placements

NKOCET’s Training and Placement Cell facilitates campus recruitment for final-year B.Tech and M.Tech students. CSE and AI-DS branches see the highest corporate placement activity, while Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical branches support campus recruitment in manufacturing and infrastructure firms in the Solapur region.

The placement cell runs aptitude, technical, and soft-skills training throughout the programme. Recruiters visiting NKOCET have included companies from IT services, manufacturing, and BPO sectors. Earlier placement cycles have seen participation from companies including Wipro, Infosys, TCS, L&T Infotech, and Bosch, among others.

NKOCET Scholarships

NKOCET students from reserved and economically weaker sections benefit significantly from Maharashtra government scholarship schemes, which substantially reduce the effective out-of-pocket fee below the listed general quota rate.

Applications are submitted through the Mahadbtmahait.gov.in portal after admission. Caste certificate, income certificate, and bank account details are mandatory. Students must re-apply each academic year to continue receiving the scholarship.

NKOCET Campus and Infrastructure

NKOCET is spread over a 10.6-acre campus in Solapur, Maharashtra. The campus houses branch-specific laboratories for Computer Science, AI, Civil, Electrical, E&TC, and Mechanical Engineering, along with a central library, computer centres with internet connectivity, and a seminar hall.

Separate hostel facilities are available for boys and girls. Hostel fees are up to INR 16,000 per year. The campus also has a canteen, sports facilities, and an NSS wing. NKOCET’s autonomous status allows it to run its own internal examination and assessment system while remaining affiliated to Solapur University for degree conferral.

NKOCET vs WIT Solapur vs RIT Sakharale

Aspirants from the Solapur and southern Maharashtra belt evaluating private engineering colleges often compare NKOCET with Walchand Institute of Technology (WIT) Solapur and Rajarambapu Institute of Technology (RIT) Sakharale. All three are AICTE-approved private engineering colleges in Maharashtra following the MHT CET admission process.

WIT Solapur is older and has a larger alumni base in the Solapur industrial sector. RIT Sakharale is located in the Sangli district and has strong connections with the Kolhapur-Sangli industrial corridor. NKOCET is a relatively newer college that draws students from the Solapur district with competitive fee rates, particularly for SC/ST students.
