Ans. Yes. Fees are uniform at INR 1,50,910 for two years across all five M.Tech specialisations: CADS, CSE, Environmental Engineering, Machine Design, and Production Engineering and System Technology. Hostel and mess charges are billed separately and are not included in this figure.

Ans. Yes. GATE score holders are eligible for M.Tech admission through Karnataka PGCET counselling conducted by KEA. GATE rank is considered alongside PGCET rank during seat allotment. GATE-qualified candidates sponsored by the Government of India or state employers may also receive a monthly stipend of INR 12,400 during the programme.

Ans. Karnataka PGCET 2026 registration closed on April 20, 2026 and the examination was held on May 24, 2026. The PGCET result is expected on July 8, 2026. KEA centralised counselling for M.Tech seats is scheduled for August to September 2026. Classes are expected to begin in October 2026.

Ans. Environmental Engineering aligns with Karnataka Pollution Control Board and water resources PSU roles. CADS suits structural design careers with KPWD, BBMP, and national infrastructure agencies. Ans. Yes. UBDTCE is a VTU-recognised research centre and M.Tech graduates are eligible to apply for VTU PhD programmes directly. The second-year dissertation builds research experience for PhD admission. Graduates may also apply to PhD programmes at other universities and central research institutions using their VTU M.Tech degree.
