MSI Admission Dates 2026

MSI admissions for the 2026-27 academic session have concluded across all programmes. The IPU CET 2026 exams were conducted in April and May 2026 for BBA, BCom, BCA, and LLB programmes, with GGSIPU counselling rounds completed by August 2026. The next cycle (2027-28) opens with IPU CET registration in February 2027.

Tentative dates for the 2027-28 cycle are listed below. These follow GGSIPU’s standard calendar and are subject to official notification.

MSI Courses and Fees

Maharaja Surajmal Institute runs four departments offering eight programmes across management, commerce, computer science, law, and education. All programmes are affiliated to GGSIPU and fees are as per university-approved rates.

The integrated BA+LLB and BBA+LLB programmes, launched in 2022-23 through the School of Law, have 60 seats each. The Department of Business Administration and Commerce runs BBA in two shifts (180 seats per shift for General, 60 seats per shift for Banking and Insurance). BCA runs in two shifts of 120 seats each, with a focus on preparing students for MCA and industry roles in IT.

MSI Admission Process

All MSI programmes are admitted through the GGSIPU centralised counselling process using IPU CET scores. There is no separate management quota for government-seat programmes. Management quota seats (where applicable) follow GGSIPU-approved norms.

BBA, BCom, and BCA Admissions

Eligibility for BBA, BCom Hons, and BCA:

• Pass in Class 12 (10+2) from a recognised board
• For BCA: Class 12 with Mathematics as a compulsory subject
• For BCom Hons: Class 12 with Commerce or Mathematics as a subject
• Valid IPU CET score (BBA/BCom/BCA category)

Selection stages:

• Online registration for IPU CET at ipu.admissions.nic.in
• IPU CET exam in April/May (computer-based test)
• GGSIPU score card and rank generated
• Choice filling and counselling through the GGSIPU portal
• Seat allotment based on IPU CET rank and category
• Fee payment and document upload
• Reporting and enrolment at MSI Janakpuri

MSI Janakpuri BBA IPU CET closing rank in Round 3 (2026 cycle) stood in the range of 1,058 to 2,224 for the Open No Home State (OPNOHS) category. BCom Hons and BCA cutoffs follow a similar competitive range, with BCA drawing a somewhat higher rank band due to the IT placement profile of the department.

Integrated Law (BA+LLB and BBA+LLB) Admissions

Eligibility:

• Pass in Class 12 from a recognised board with minimum 45% marks
• Valid CLAT score or IPU CET (Law) score

Selection is through GGSIPU centralised counselling using CLAT or IPU CET Law rank. Each integrated law programme has 60 seats. These programmes were launched in 2022-23 and are suited to students targeting corporate law, business law, and litigation careers from a management-law bridge pathway.

MBA Admissions

Eligibility:

• Graduation in any discipline with a minimum 50% marks
• Valid IPU CET MBA score or CAT/MAT/XAT score (per GGSIPU norms)

MSI MBA was launched in 2022-23. Specialisations include Finance, Operations, Human Resource, and Sales and Marketing. Admission is through GGSIPU counselling rounds for the IPU CET MBA category.

BEd Admissions

BEd eligibility requires graduation with minimum 50% marks and a valid IPU CET BEd score. The 2-year NCTE-recognised programme has 100 seats and prepares graduates for Delhi government school teaching posts through the DSE (Directorate of School Education, Delhi) recruitment process.

MSI Placements

Maharaja Surajmal Institute runs an active campus placement programme across its four departments. Placement data for the 2024-25 batch shows 286 students placed across BCA, BBA, BCom, and MBA programmes. The BCA department has historically driven the highest packages due to the IT industry’s demand for computer applications graduates.

Top recruiters visiting MSI across BCA and management programmes include Amazon, Infosys, Wipro, Capgemini, Deloitte, SAP, Concentrix, and Reliance Jio. The BCA programme’s IT placement pipeline is the standout feature of the institute’s placement record, with DE Shaw representing the top outlier at INR 23.5 LPA in 2024-25.

MBA placements are still maturing given the programme was launched only in 2022-23. The highest MBA package stood at INR 7 LPA in 2024-25, with a lowest offer of INR 2.4 LPA. Placement outcomes for the Law programmes will build over the next two to three years as the first batches graduate.

MSI Rankings

Maharaja Surajmal Institute is recognised in the NIRF College category and holds NAAC ’A’ grade accreditation. The rankings reflect its standing as a well-regarded GGSIPU-affiliated private institution in Delhi NCR.

NIRF’s College category covers undergraduate-level institutions across disciplines. A rank band of 101 to 150 out of all colleges assessed nationally reflects a competitive position for a private Delhi institution specialising in management, commerce, and computer applications.

MSI Scholarships

MSI students are eligible for national scholarship programmes administered through the National Scholarship Portal and for Delhi government scholarship schemes. The institute also has provisions for merit and need-based fee concessions under GGSIPU norms.

Scholarship applications are submitted through the National Scholarship Portal for central schemes. Delhi-domicile students can also apply through the Delhi government’s e-scholarship portal.

MSI Campus and Infrastructure

Maharaja Surajmal Institute is located in Janakpuri, West Delhi, a residential district with good Metro connectivity (Janakpuri West on the Blue Line). The single-campus setup houses all four departments.

MSI vs VIPS vs MAIMS

Maharaja Surajmal Institute, Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies (VIPS), and Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Management Studies (MAIMS) are three GGSIPU-affiliated private management colleges in Delhi. Aspirants choosing among IPU CET options for BBA, BCom, and MBA frequently compare these three.

VIPS holds a stronger NAAC grade (A+) and is ranked higher among GGSIPU-affiliated private colleges in Delhi. MSI’s standout advantage is its BCA placement record and its School of Law, which is a relatively rare addition among GGSIPU-affiliated management colleges. MAIMS at Rohini is a smaller institution with a comparable programme portfolio. Location within Delhi is typically the deciding factor for aspirants who prefer to commute.
