The DNS stands for the diploma in nautical Science. The academic requirement is mentioned below:

• The cadet must pass (10+2) or equivalent securing minimum 60% in PCM (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) & 50% in English either in (10+2) or10th standard.
•  Not more than 20 years as on 1st October of admission year.
• The candidate must be medically fit and should meet the Medical Requirements as per M. S. Rule 2000 (for further details please Medical Requirement in Selection Procedure).
• Vision should be 6/6 (normal) in each eye separately without visionary aid and no colour blindness.
