Andhra University, School of Distance Education is an organ of Andhra University that was started in 1972 and since then has been one of the pioneering institutions in the field of Higher Education. The ISO-certified Institute was Accredited Grade ‘A’ by NAAC. The Distance Education school has been striving to extend higher education to different sections of the society located in various geographical areas, particularly in the State of Andhra Pradesh. Students of this institution study the same syllabi/ subjects as that of the regular students of Andhra University. The School of Distance Education offers several programs in streams like Arts, Commerce, Science, Law, Management etc.

Andhra University, School of Distance Education provides mainly three Undergraduate courses – B.A., B.Com. and B.Sc. Admission to these courses will be on the basis of merit in the qualifying examination.
The Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) and Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) program requires the candidate to pass Intermediate or Equivalent or pass B.A./ B.Com. Entrance exam conducted by the School of Distance Education.
B.Com. Customer Service Management
The B.Com. (Customer Service Management) program that is offered by the Distance School requires the students to pass 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized body.
The School of Distance Education offers MA, M.Sc., M.Com. and LL.M programs in various specializations at the Postgraduate level. Admissions to these courses depend on the merit of the candidates in the concerned examination.
The M.A. program is offered to the candidates in eleven specializations viz, English, Telugu, Hindi, History, Economics, Politics, Public Administration, Sociology, Philosophy, Psychology and Music. The minimum eligibility to apply is Bachelors in the relevant discipline from a recognized University/ Institute.
The Institute offers five specializations under M.Sc. program namely, Mathematics, Botany, Organic Chemistry, Zoology and Physics. To apply to this program a candidate must be B.Sc. graduate from a recognized Institute.
The School of Distance Education offers normal MBA and Executive MBA with other courses namely, MCA, MHRM, MJMC, and B.Ed. The minimum eligibility to apply is Graduation in any relevant branch with minimum 50% marks. Admission to MBA and MCA will be on the basis of marks secured in AUCET or APICET entrance exam. Whereas, admission to other courses will be based on the merit in the qualifying exam.
