DOEACC is short for The Department of Electronics and Accreditation of Computer Courses. DOEACC is an autonomous body of the Ministry of Human Resources Development under the Government of India. The body has different levels of courses of different difficulties for Computer Applications and IT. The goal of these courses is to bring quality IT knowledge to the general public.

There are five levels of courses, each corresponding to different levels of regular educational programmes. There are certificate, foundation, diploma equivalent programmes, and courses equivalent to master’s courses.

DOEACC Certificate Courses on Computer Concepts (CCC)

DOEACC’s courses have been designed to make Computer Applications and IT literacy more widespread in India. The first of all course levels in DOEACC is CCC or Course on Computer Concept.

  • This is a certificate level course teaching the basics and introduction to IT. 
  • Upon completing CCC, candidates are expected to be comfortable in using computers to write and send letters and emails, browse the internet as well as prepare presentations. 
  • CCC will greatly benefit the elder generation and homemakers.

The course is taught over 80 hours total, a majority of which is spent on tutorials and practicals.

How are Admission in DOEACC Certificate Courses on Computer Concepts Done?

Admissions are granted into DOEACC CCC courses through merit. There are no set eligibility criteria that candidates have to meet in order to be granted a seat. Proficiency in the English language is expected from all applicants.

DOEACC O Level Course

DOEACC ‘O’ Level Course

DOEACC ‘O’ Level course has been recognized by the Ministry of Human Resources Development as being similar to a Foundation Level Course in Computer Applications. The one year course covers programming languages and other IT basics. There are also practical papers and a project to be covered as part of the syllabus and in order to earn the ‘O’ level.

To earn the ‘O’ level, candidates can work as Junior Programmer, EDP Assistant, Web Designer, or as Lab Demonstrator.

How to get admission in DOEACC Foundation ‘O’ Level Course? 

Admissions to ‘O’ Level courses is similar to other level courses in DOEACC. Candidates must fulfill set eligibility criteria in order to be admitted. The eligibility criteria are as follows.

  • Candidates must have completed 12th standard or an ITI certificate after completing class 10th which is to be followed by the ‘O’ level DOEACC course.
  • Completing the second year of a Government Polytechnic Engineering diploma course after completing class 10th followed by ‘O’ level during the third year.
  • For applicants who are applying directly, class 12th must be completed or an ITI certificate after class 10th with 1 year of work experience.
  • Candidates who have passed NCVT-Data Processing and Computer Software examination of Government of India.

DOEACC ‘A’ Level Course 

DOEACC’s ‘A’ Level course, follows Level ‘O’ course, is equivalent to an Advanced Diploma in Computer Applications. The Ministry of HRD recognizes this course as eligibility criteria for Government jobs and services.

The goal of the DOEACC ‘A’ Level course is to equip students with IT skills and knowledge. Students after a period of coaching are required to appear for the qualifying examination in order to earn the ‘A’ level.

How are Admissions in DOEACC Advanced Diploma ‘A’ Level Course? 

Admissions are granted to candidates based on a set of eligibility criteria. Each criterion must be fulfilled in order to be granted a seat in the course. The eligibility criteria are as follows.

  • Students who have completed an ‘O’ Level course or Government recognized polytechnic engineering diploma after class 10th followed by a Level ‘A’ course or Government approved polytechnic engineering diploma after 12th or a graduate with ‘A’ level course.
  • Students who have applied directly, level ‘O’ completion or Government recognized polytechnic engineering diploma or graduate. At each level, there must be relevant work experience. ‘A’ level is awarded after completing a polytechnic engineering diploma after 12th or a bachelor’s degree.

DOEACC ‘B’ Level Course 

DOEACC’s ‘B’ Level course is the fourth level of courses in Computer Applications. It is the equivalent of a regular MCA degree, as identified by the MHRD. Students who have completed the Level ‘B’ course are able to work in job positions an MCA graduate is able to work in.

Candidates need to fulfill eligibility criteria to be admitted into the course. Upon completing the course and sitting for the qualifying exam, projects are to be submitted. One can work as a Systems Analyst, Software Engineer, Training Faculty, R&D Scientist etc after finishing Level ‘B’.

How are Admission in DOEACC ‘B’ Level Course Done?

Admissions to Level ‘B’ courses are done if candidates meet the eligibility criteria set by DOEACC. The below conditions are to be met.

  • Students who have completed Level ‘A’ course or Government approved PGDCA/ Government approved Engineering Polytechnic diploma followed by Level ‘B’ in each case. The first two semesters are exempt for those who have completed Level ‘A’.
  • For students-at-large or direct applicants, Level ‘A’ or Government recognized PGDCA or Government recognized PGDCA followed by two years of work experience. Candidates who have completed level ‘A’ in full are exempt from 2 semesters. Graduates from a Government recognized polytechnic Engineering diploma course followed by three years of work experience.

DOEACC ‘C’ Level Course

Department of Electronics and Accreditation of Computer Classes or DOEACC, created by AICTE. DOEACC offers Level ‘C’ courses in Computer Applications for students who have completed their Level ‘B’ course. Applicants must also meet other eligibility criteria to be admitted into the course.

Level ‘C’ is the equivalent of a regular M.Tech. Degree programme.
