PMP is an exam offered by PMI for students who want to demonstrate their knowledge and experience in project management. The exam tests the student's understanding and applications of project management best practices, as outlined in the PMBOK guide. 

Students with a secondary degree, 4-year bachelor’s degree, or postgraduate degree with different unique professional project management experiences, as set by PMI can apply for the PMP exam. The PMP exam consists of 200 MCQs and the total marks are 1000. Out of 200, 25 questions are pretest and do not count towards the final score. The remaining 175 questions are based on 5 process groups to test students’ PMP knowledge.

PMP Membership Fee Renewal

The yearly renewal fee for PMP Membership varies according to the membership type. The renewal fee for different types is as follows - 

  • The yearly renewal fee for individual members is INR INR 10,557.
  • The students have to pay the least membership renewal fee at INR 2,618.
  • The members who are now retiree and wants to continue the PMP membership have to pay a renewal fee of INR 5,319.

PMP Exam Dates

To appear in a PMP exam, students need to follow the following steps - 

  • Complete the online PMP application process.
  • The application will go for an audit and if selected, students can select their PMP exam date.
  • On selecting the exam date and paying the fee, a one-year PMP exam eligibility period will start.
  • The students can appear in the exam three times in an eligibility year.
  • A PMI Eligibility ID will be shared with students which will be used to schedule exams. 

PMP Exam Time

The PMP exam is 4 hours long. The students are advised to schedule their PMP exam 5-6 weeks before to get the preferred time slot as time may clash with other students applying for the same exam. PMP exam is usually conducted by PMI multiple times a week at various locations around the world.

PMP Exam Requirements

To appear in a PMP exam, the students need to have the following requirements - 

  • High School Diploma, Associate’s Degree, or Global Equivalent with a minimum of 60 months of non-overlapping unique professional project management experience. 35 hours of formal project management education is also needed.
  • Bachelor’s Degree (4 years) or Global Equivalent with a minimum of 36 months of non-overlapping unique professional project management experience. 35 hours of formal project management education is also needed.

PMP Exam Online
