• Result: AIMA UGAT 2027 result is expected in the last week of June 2027. UGAT 2026 result was declared on June 24, 2026 — 10 days after the exam. After results, individual participating institutes begin their own shortlisting and GD/PI rounds.

What is AIMA UGAT 2027?

AIMA UGAT stands for All India Management Association Under Graduate Aptitude Test. It is a national-level aptitude test for students who want admission to undergraduate management and hotel management programs. AIMA — the conducting body — is India’s apex management body established in 1957 and headquartered in New Delhi.

UGAT is held once every year, usually in June, and tests candidates on four core areas: English Language, Numerical and Data Analysis, Reasoning and Intelligence, and General Knowledge. Students applying for hotel management programs (BHMCT) appear for a longer version with two additional sections — Service Aptitude and Scientific Aptitude.

AIMA UGAT 2027 Eligibility Criteria

You must meet the AIMA UGAT eligibility conditions before applying for UGAT 2027. The criteria are straightforward and open to students from all academic streams — Science, Commerce, and Arts. Individual participating institutes may set additional conditions on top of the AIMA minimum criteria, so always check the college’s own admission requirements too.

Academic Qualification

You must have passed Class 12 (10+2) or an equivalent examination from a recognised board — CBSE, state boards, ICSE, or equivalent. Students currently appearing in their Class 12 final exams are also eligible to apply. If selected by an institute, they must submit the final passing certificate and marksheet at the time of admission.

Minimum Marks in Class 12

You need at least 50% aggregate marks in Class 12 to be eligible for UGAT. There is no stream restriction — students from Science (PCM or PCB), Commerce, and Humanities/Arts are all equally eligible as long as they meet the 50% marks requirement.

Age Requirement

You must be at least 17 years old at the time of the UGAT exam. AIMA has not set any upper age limit. Students re-applying after a gap year can also apply without age-related restrictions.

Nationality

AIMA UGAT 2027 Application Process

AIMA UGAT 2027 registration will be done entirely online through the AIMA official portal. The process is multi-step, and you should keep all required documents ready before you begin so the application can be completed smoothly. The portal is expected to go live in February 2027.

How to Apply for AIMA UGAT 2027 — Step by Step

1. Visit the Official Portal: Go to aima.in and click on the UGAT 2027 registration link that AIMA will activate in February 2027.
2. New Registration: Click on the UGAT 2027 new registration link and fill in your basic details — full name, date of birth, gender, email ID, and mobile number. This creates your UGAT login credentials (username and password).

For BHMCT (hotel management) programs, several AIMA-affiliated hospitality institutes also accept UGAT scores in the 6-section format. The number of seats and specific program offerings vary by institute — some offer BHMCT, others offer B.Sc in Hospitality or related programs.

You can select only up to 5 institutes in the UGAT 2027 application form. Those 5 institutes receive your scorecard directly from AIMA. After results, you can also approach additional UGAT-participating institutes directly with your scorecard — but applying to more than 5 requires independent outreach to those colleges.

AIMA UGAT 2027 Preparation Tips

UGAT 2027 is expected in June 2027. With around 9 months from now (September 2026), you have enough time to build a strong preparation if you start early and follow a consistent plan. UGAT is not as intensely competitive as CUET or other mass national-level tests, but scoring 75+ out of 130 — needed for top participating institutes — requires regular practice across all four sections.

English Language: Build a Daily Reading Habit

With 40 questions in the BBA/BCA format, English is the most important section and cannot be prepared through last-minute cramming. Start habits now.

• Read an English newspaper or magazine for at least 30 minutes every day. This builds both vocabulary and the reading speed needed for comprehension questions.
• Practise Reading Comprehension passages regularly. Aim to read a 400–500 word passage and answer all related questions in 8–10 minutes.
• Learn 10 new words daily — synonyms, antonyms, and one-word substitutions. This adds up over 9 months and pays off directly in UGAT vocabulary questions.
• Revise core grammar rules — subject-verb agreement, tenses, articles, and prepositions — using a standard guide. These appear directly in error-spotting and fill-in-the-blank questions.

Numerical and Data Analysis: Focus on Basics and Speed

Class 10 arithmetic and basic Class 11 algebra cover most of what UGAT tests. You do not need advanced topics.

• Start with high-frequency topics — percentages, profit and loss, ratio and proportion, simple and compound interest. These appear in almost every UGAT paper and are quick to learn.
• Practise at least one Data Interpretation set daily — one table-based and one graph-based set. DI questions look time-consuming but become fast with regular practice.

Reasoning and Intelligence: Pattern Recognition Comes with Practice

• Arrangement questions (linear and circular seating) and number/letter series are high-frequency. Focus on these first — they are formula-based once you learn the technique.
• Practise coding-decoding and blood relation questions until you can solve a standard question in under 60 seconds.
• For syllogisms, use Venn diagrams or the elimination method. Do not rely on gut feeling alone.
• Take timed sets of 10–15 reasoning questions under clock pressure. Speed is essential in this section during the exam.

General Knowledge: Daily Reading Beats Last-Minute Cramming

• Start a GK reading routine now — 20 minutes of current affairs every day is far more effective than binge-reading the week before the exam.
• Track national and international news, government schemes, RBI and economic policy updates, sports results, and award announcements monthly.
• Maintain short notes on important GK facts — key appointments, national events, international summits, and economic statistics. These make revision easier closer to the exam.
• For static GK, revise Indian polity basics, Constitution fundamentals, physical geography of India, and key historical events — these appear in GK sections year after year.

Mock Tests and Full-Length Practice

• Take your first full-length UGAT mock test by January 2027 to establish a baseline score and identify your weakest sections.
• Aim to take at least 5–6 full mock tests in the two months before the exam (April–May 2027).
