AP SSC Exam Pattern 2027: Subject-Wise Marking Scheme and Exam Duration

AP SSC Exam Pattern 2027 has been released along with model question papers by the Board of Secondary Education of Andhra Pradesh Government on 12th August 2026 at https://bse.ap.gov.in/

• AP SSC 2027 officially has 6 compulsory subjects: Telugu, Hindi, English, Mathematics, Science and Social Science.
• Except for Science, all the subjects will be for 100 marks each. The Science subject is split into two theory papers for 50 marks, which are Physical Science and Biological Science.
• BSEAP has released the exam Pattern and model question papers on their official website as well as in the LEAP app.
• The total percentage for AP SSC 2027 will be calculated out of 600, which means there is no “best of five” rule applicable here.
• Both Telugu and Hindi subject papers have given maximum weightage of 60% and 25% to the Comprehension Section.
• The English Language Paper has 60% of questions from the Comprehension and Creative Expression Section.
• In the Mathematics and Social Science Paper, the essay-type questions make up a significant weightage of 40%.
• Physical Science places greater emphasis on 8-mark questions, which accounts for 48% of the paper, while in Biological Science, 4-mark questions contribute a significant 40% weightage.

AP SSC Exam Pattern 2027 for 1st Language: Telugu

• The Telugu Subject Question Paper is divided into three sections. These sections include Comprehension, Appreciation and Creative Expression. Each carries the marks as depicted below;
• The released Model Paper reveals that maximum weightage of 60% is given to the comprehension section.
• The total number of questions are 33 and the total marks are 100.

AP SSC Exam Pattern 2027 for 2nd Language: Hindi

• The Hindi Language Paper consists of 6 Parts which are; Comprehension & Author Study, Unseen Passage/Poem, Short Answer, Long Answer, Essay/Letter/Bio-sketch, and Grammar (भाषा की बात).
• Based on the released model paper, the comprehension part carries a maximum weightage of 25%.
• The total number of questions are 31, and these are worth 100 marks.

AP SSC Exam Pattern 2027 for 3rd Language: English

• The English Paper is divided into three sections. These sections include Reading Comprehension, Grammar & Vocabulary, and Creative Expression. Each carries the marks as depicted below;
• The analysis of the model paper shows that the maximum weightage of 30% is carried by the Reading Comprehension and Creative Expression sections.
• The total number of questions is 37, and the total marks are 100.

AP SSC 2027 Exam Pattern: Mathematics

• In the Maths subject, there are a total of 4 sections. These sections include MCQ Questions, very short answer questions, short answer questions, and essay-type questions, respectively.
• The Model paper reveals that the essay-type questions carry 40% weightage, which is the maximum in comparison to others.
• There are a total of 33 questions, and these are worth 100 marks.

AP SSC 2027 Exam Pattern: Social Science

• It is divided into 4 sections. Section I consists of objective questions, Section II consists of very short answer questions, Section III consists of short answer questions, Section IV consists of long answer questions.
• Based on the model paper, the maximum percentage of marks is contributed by the Essay-type questions, which include map-based questions as well; this section has a weightage of 40%.
• The total number of questions is 33, and the maximum marks are 100.

AP SSC 2027 Exam Pattern: Physical Science

• The Physical Science paper is divided into 4 sections; these sections include the following questions respectively: Very Short Answer / MCQ Questions, Short Answer Questions, Short Answer Questions (1 with internal choice), and Essay-Type Questions (each with internal choice).
• The maximum weightage of 48% is carried by the essay-type questions in this subject.
• Unlike other subjects, the maximum marks for this subject are 50, and the total number of questions is 17.

AP SSC 2027 Exam Pattern: Biological Science

• Like Physical Science, Biological Science also has 4 sections; however, the number of questions in each section is slightly different.
• Here, a maximum weightage of 40% is given to the short answer questions, where each question carries 4 marks.
• There are a total of 17 questions in the Biological Science subject, and the total marks are 50.

AP SSC 2027 Passing Marks and Grading System

• For passing in AP SSC 2027, you need to get 35% or above marks, which means out of 100 you must score 35 and above in Telugu, English, Hindi, Maths, and Social Science subjects.
• Since science is further divided into two subjects, you need 17.5 and above marks out of 50 in both biological and physical sciences. This would make you reach 35% of marks and pass you in the science subject.
