- Electric Cell – An electric cell is a device that produces electricity from the chemicals stored in it. Such cells are used to run smaller appliances like clock, torch, remote etc.
| There are two terminals in an electric cell: Positive and Negative Terminal. Electric Cells stops working when the chemicals present inside them is used up. |
- Bulb Connected to an Electric Cell – A bulb is an electric device that emits light when electricity is passed through its terminals.
| When a bulb is connected to an electric cell with the help of wires, it glows and emits light. This is due to the electric current produced by electric cell that passes to the bulb through wires. |
- Electric Circuit – An electric circuit is a closed path that allows flow of electric current from one terminal to the other.
| An electric circuit is made up of switches, wires, bulb and an electric cell. |
- Conductors and Insulators – Some materials allow electric current to pass through them while some do not. Based on this, materials can be classified as conductors and insulators.
| Conductors are the materials that allow flow of electric current through them. For example – metals. Insulators are the materials that do not allow flow of electric current through them. For example – plastic, wood etc. |
