Examples From Chapter 3 Understanding Quadrilaterals

Ex. 1 What is the measure of each exterior angle of a  polygon with

(i) 9 sides

(ii) 15 sides.

Soln: 

(i) 9 sides
Size of each exterior angle =360^∘/9

=40^∘
(ii) 15 sides
Size of each exterior angle = 360⁰/15

=24⁰

Ex. 2 What is the number of sides in a polygon with each exterior angle as 45^o.

Soln: For a polygon with n sides,
We know,  n = 360^o/(measure of each exterior angle)

Therefore, 360^∘/45^∘
= 8

The polygon hence, has 8 sides.
