What is UPCET 2027?
UPCET stands for Uttar Pradesh Combined Entrance Test. It was originally a standalone entrance exam conducted by NTA (National Testing Agency) on behalf of AKTU for admissions to UP state technical colleges. The exam was also known as UPSEE (Uttar Pradesh State Engineering Entrance Examination) before being rebranded in 2021. The standalone UPCET exam was discontinued after 2021. From 2022 onwards, the admission system shifted to national-level qualifying exams — JEE Main for B.Tech, CUET UG for pharmacy and hotel management, and CUET PG or CAT for management courses.
Today, "UPCET" is the umbrella term for this entire UP technical admission ecosystem. The counselling and seat allotment process is managed by UPTAC (Uttar Pradesh Technical Admission Counselling), which works under the authority of Dr. A.P.J. UPCET 2027 Eligibility Criteria

How to Apply for UPCET 2027
UPCET 2027 admission is a two-step process. First, you apply for and appear in the relevant qualifying exam (JEE Main or CUET). Then you register for UPTAC counselling to get a seat allotted in an AKTU-affiliated college.

UPCET 2027 Admit Card
UPCET 2027 does not issue a separate admit card. Your admit card is the hall ticket released by NTA for your qualifying exam — JEE Main or CUET. You can download it from the NTA portal once it is released, typically 10–15 days before the exam.

UPCET 2027 Counselling Process (UPTAC)

UPTAC 2027 Counselling Steps

Domicile Rules for UPCET 2027
- 85% seats in government and government-aided AKTU colleges are reserved for UP domicile candidates under the Home State quota. You need a valid UP domicile certificate issued by the competent authority to claim these seats.
- 15% seats are open to candidates from all states under the All India quota. UP domicile candidates can also compete for these seats.
- UP domicile is generally granted to candidates born in Uttar Pradesh or those who have continuously studied in UP for at least 3 years immediately before appearing in Class 12.

There are around 257 Engineering colleges in India accepting UPCET which include 227 private and 27 government Engineering colleges.
Candidates interested in pursuing undergraduate and graduate degrees in engineering, computer science and information technology, management, pharmacy, and other fields can register for the UPCET 2024 exam. It is noteworthy that there won't be an entrance exam for admission to the B.Tech program. JEE Main scores alone will be used to determine admission to four-year B.Tech programs; NATA scores will be used to determine admission to B.Arch programs.

In the UPCET MBA paper there are four sections, Numerical Ability and Analytical Aptitude, Reasoning and logical deduction, General Knowledge and current affairs, and English Language. Each section will have 25 questions. The total mark is 400 and you must attempt all the questions in 2 hours.
The minimum mark required to register for UPCET MBA is 50% in a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university. There is a 5% mark relaxation for reserved category students.
