Berlin School of Business and Innovation Application Deadlines
Berlin School of Business and Innovation runs three main intakes each year at its Berlin campus — January, May and September — with an additional March, August and October window for select MBA cohorts. Because Indian applicants need a national student visa, the school publishes an earlier visa-route cut-off that closes roughly two to three months before the intake begins.
Berlin School of Business and Innovation’s primary intake for Indian students is September — most degrees, including the flagship MBA and Global MBA, open here — per the official BSBI admissions page.
| Intake | Level | Applications Open | Visa-Route Deadline | Portal |
|---|---|---|---|---|

| March, August, October 2027 | MBA only | Rolling | ~90 days pre-start | BSBI apply portal |
Planning note: The September 2026 intake is already closed for Indian visa applicants. Aim your first cycle at January 2027 or, if you need more prep, the September 2027 primary window.
Berlin School of Business and Innovation Eligibility for Indian Students
Berlin School of Business and Innovation runs an access-oriented model, meaning it admits most applicants who meet its stated academic and language floors rather than filtering by a highly selective cut-off. Berlin School of Business and Innovation waives the English test for Indian applicants who hold a Bachelor’s degree taught fully in English from a recognised university. A signed medium of instruction (MOI) letter from your degree-awarding institution is accepted in place of IELTS or TOEFL for the school’s own review; the German embassy may still ask to see the letter during the visa interview.
Berlin School of Business and Innovation PG Programmes
Berlin School of Business and Innovation offers postgraduate degrees jointly with five awarding partners — University for the Creative Arts (UCA), University of Roehampton, University of Chichester, UNINETTUNO, and Concordia University Chicago. Concordia MBA tuition (base) is €19,440 (₹21.17 Lakhs) total; Global MBA sits at €15,525 (₹16.90 Lakhs) total. Discounts up to 40 percent are common. All MBA applicants complete a short admissions interview covering programme fit and language readiness, per the MBA programme page.
Insider note: The Concordia MBA runs Monday to Saturday on rotating slots. Indian applicants juggling part-time work under the 120-day student visa rule usually pick the evening slot.
Berlin School of Business and Innovation PhD Admissions
Berlin School of Business and Innovation delivers a research doctorate through its awarding-partner network rather than a standalone school-run PhD. Indian applicants typically enter via the UCA doctoral pathway in Management or Creative Industries.
Berlin School of Business and Innovation PhD Entry
- Master’s degree in a relevant field, minimum 60 percent aggregate
- Research proposal (~2,500 words) aligned to a BSBI faculty area
- Two academic referees, at least one from the Master’s dissertation supervisor
- IELTS 6.5 or equivalent, with no band below 6.0
Berlin School of Business and Innovation PhD Funding
BSBI does not publish an internal PhD stipend for international candidates. Most Indian doctoral students self-fund or combine part-time teaching-assistant contracts with external grants. For the full range of external funding open to Indian PhD applicants see the funding for Indian students page.
Planning note: Confirm faculty supervisor fit before you formally apply — a signed supervisor letter drastically shortens the decision timeline.
Berlin School of Business and Innovation Application Process
The BSBI application is a nine-step flow covering document intake, an admissions interview, offer letter and visa paperwork. Indian applicants should build in roughly 10 to 14 weeks from first submission to a signed Study Agreement, since document verification and the German visa slot both take time.
- Create your account on the BSBI apply portal and choose programme plus intake
- Upload academic transcripts, degree certificate, passport scan and English test result
- Submit motivation letter, CV and two reference letters
- Attend a short admissions interview (~20 minutes, video call)
- Receive Offer Letter and Study Agreement, usually within two weeks
- There is no application fee to pay on the BSBI apply portal at this stage
- Pay the €2,000 (₹2.18 Lakhs) enrolment deposit against the first-year tuition
- Collect Acceptance Letter and start the German student visa application
- Complete on-campus enrolment and induction at the Berlin campus
Berlin School of Business and Innovation Admission Decisions
Berlin School of Business and Innovation issues admission decisions on a rolling basis. Once your file is complete and the interview is done, expect a decision within two to three weeks. The offer typically comes with an academic condition (final transcript submission) and a financial condition (deposit clearance).
- Offer letter: issued within 10 to 15 working days of interview
- Acceptance window: sign the Study Agreement within 14 days of offer
- Deferral: one intake deferral allowed at no extra cost
- Conditional offers: converted to unconditional on transcript and deposit clearance
Before you apply: If you plan to defer, request it before paying the €2,000 (₹2.18 Lakhs) deposit — a paid deposit locks you into the original intake unless you get written approval.
Berlin School of Business and Innovation Documents Required
The document checklist is short but strict on translations. Every non-English certificate must carry a certified English translation. Indian applicants generally get transcripts notarised through their home institution before uploading.
- Class X and Class XII marksheets and passing certificates
- Bachelor’s degree certificate and consolidated transcripts (PG applicants)
- Valid passport, biodata page scanned in colour
- Passport-size photograph on a light background
- One-page letter of motivation
- CV or resume, in reverse-chronological order
- Two letters of recommendation (academic or professional)
- Valid IELTS, TOEFL, PTE or Duolingo score report
- Medium of instruction letter, if using the English-medium waiver
- Blocked-account proof of about €11,904, only at the German visa stage
Berlin School of Business and Innovation Acceptance Rate
Berlin School of Business and Innovation does not publish an official institutional acceptance rate. Third-party estimates place it at 70 to 80 percent for international applicants, based on its access-oriented admissions model and standard entry cut-offs.
What Drives the Berlin School of Business and Innovation Acceptance Rate
The high acceptance number reflects transparent floors rather than a lax bar. Applicants who meet the GPA, English and document standards on the first pass move to interview; incomplete files or unmet English scores are the common reasons for rejection at review.
Berlin School of Business and Innovation Selectivity by Programme
The Concordia MBA and MSc Data Analytics track closer to the lower end of the 70 to 80 percent range because seats are capped per intake. Foundation and BSc programmes at Berlin sit at the upper end.
Insider note: The interview stage is where most Indian applicants stumble — panellists probe programme knowledge and post-study plans, not resume length.
Germany Student Visa for Berlin School of Business and Innovation
Indian applicants apply for the German National Visa (D-Visa) for study purposes after receiving the BSBI Acceptance Letter. The application is filed at VFS Germany centres in India, with a mandatory in-person appointment at the German Consulate in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai or Kolkata. Standard processing runs 6 to 12 weeks, so file at least three months before your intake start date.
Financial proof is the single largest bottleneck: applicants must show a Blocked Account (Sperrkonto) balance of €11,904 (₹12.96 Lakhs) for the 2026 to 2027 academic year, plus the €2,000 (₹2.18 Lakhs) BSBI enrolment deposit and health insurance cover. Once in Berlin, register your address at the local Bürgeramt within 14 days and convert the D-Visa into a residence permit at the Auslanderbehörde within 90 days.
2026 update: Blocked account minimums are revised each January by the German Foreign Office — confirm the current figure with your bank before wiring funds.
Tips for Berlin School of Business and Innovation Admissions
The following tips are drawn from Indian-applicant patterns at Berlin School of Business and Innovation and reflect where cycles most often go off-track.
- Book the interview slot early: panels fill fast around January and September intake peaks
- Match the awarding partner: Concordia programmes want US-style transcripts; UCA reads UK-style
- Use MOI letter early: saves 4 to 6 weeks versus scheduling an IELTS retake
- Lock the €11,904 (₹12.96 Lakhs) blocked account before the visa slot opens
- Ask for the 50 percent scholarship at document upload, not after the offer letter
- Pick Berlin campus for hiring: the German capital’s start-up density beats Hamburg for business roles
Berlin School of Business and Innovation Admissions Checklist
The following steps cover what Indian applicants typically complete, in the order they should hit each milestone.
- Book IELTS or PTE 10 to 12 weeks before your target BSBI deadline
- Request certified Class XII and Bachelor’s transcripts 8 weeks before applying
- Draft the one-page motivation letter, then get one peer review before upload
- Request two reference letters at least 4 weeks before submission
- Complete the BSBI application interview within 2 weeks of file submission
- Open the €11,904 (₹12.96 Lakhs) blocked account within 7 days of offer acceptance
- Book the German visa slot at VFS the same day the Acceptance Letter arrives
Berlin School of Business and Innovation runs on transparent floors, three main intakes and no application fee, so Indian applicants who meet the 60 percent academic and IELTS 6.0 bars usually clear admissions cleanly. Aim your first cycle at January 2027 (visa deadline 30 November 2026) if you can move fast, or the September 2027 primary intake for a fuller runway.

- All the staff is really friendly
- The campus is very innovative involving the use of holograms and robots to teach.
Dislikes
- The response time of the teams are too high unless you go see them in person.
- Not all professors can teach you what you wish to learn.
- You will have to rely on self study almost entirely.
Scholarship
- I received a scholarship from BSBI's end for about 40% of the amount. It amounted to about 9000 euros. My classmates had different scholarships too. The highest was 50% to one of my closest friends. BSBI offers a bunch of scholarships to students depending on the grades you receive in your previous diplomas or degrees. The usual scholarships are about 10-20% but depending on your profile, you can aim for more. The scholarships depend on the courses too.
Likes
- 1.The Fees structure as private university is very cheap and good Compare with other private university although in Germany fees is not applicable in public university but in terms of private it's cheap also take care whenever paying fees be sure to ask everything in mail.
- 2. Easy to get enrolled as they will take additions from all Strems and they have numbers of classes for the same course.
- 3. Exams are easy and if you study little bit it is easier to pass in exams. More then 70% are Indian students.
Dislikes
- 1. As all staff in finance is Indian and they are greedy of money as they are really rude to me at the first day of my university make sure to have all proof with you in written in mail.
- 2. They won't help or give any leads in terms of Job search also and we have to struggle hard with some hope to find a job.
- 3. Quality of education is not good but not bad also if you are studying and asking dobouts teachers will try to help you they will guide us overview of subjects but in detail we have to do by our own.
Scholarship
- If we paid full fees, they will give us a 30% discount, which we can consider a scholarship. That is the eligibility criteria to get a scholarship.
- At my time they were giving up to 40% but now it decreases to 30% and other than this scholarship, there is no scholarship. If you are lucky enough, you can ask your coordinator to increase the amount of scholarship; they might help, but ask before the fee payment.
Overview
Berlin School of Business and Innovation (BSBI) is one of the best college for the course that i wanted to pursue for my masters and the faculty members of this university are very good.
