Berlin School of Business and Innovation Admission Requirements for Indian Applicants 2027
Indian applicants at Berlin School of Business and Innovation must meet three admission gates: an academic threshold on the Indian scale, an English test minimum, and mandatory APS credential verification for the German student visa.
Postgraduate applicants:
- Bachelor’s degree with 50% aggregate or CGPA 5.0/10 (recommended) for MSc programmes; MBA requires 60% or GPA 2.25/4.0 (recommended)
- IELTS 6.0 overall with 5.5 minimum in each band, or TOEFL iBT 80, or PTE Academic 59, or Duolingo English Test 105 (Executive MBA requires IELTS 6.5 with no band below 6.0)
- APS (Akademische Prufstelle, German academic evaluation) certificate from the German Embassy in India
- Global MBA requires no work experience; Executive MBA requires at least two years of management experience
Undergraduate applicants:
- Class 12 with 60% or above (recommended) and 12 years of schooling; minimum age 18 at intake start
- IELTS 5.5 to 6.0 overall, or TOEFL iBT 80 equivalent; PTE and Duolingo also accepted
- APS certificate mandatory for Indian applicants before student visa filing
Key insight: Berlin School of Business and Innovation accepts a Medium of Instruction (MOI) letter from your bachelor’s institution as an English-language waiver, if your undergraduate coursework was fully in English. This exemption saves Indian applicants the cost and 2-3 week timeline of a separate IELTS test.
Berlin School of Business and Innovation Acceptance Rate 2027
Berlin School of Business and Innovation does not publish an official annual acceptance figure. As per third-party admissions analyses, the acceptance rate sits between 60% and 85% (estimated). The range reflects BSBI’s rolling admissions model, which reviews applications continuously across four annual intakes rather than in a single competitive cycle.
Indian applicants meeting the academic threshold, the English test minimum and the APS certificate requirement face little competitive risk at Berlin School of Business and Innovation. The main rejection drivers are incomplete documentation and unattested academic transcripts rather than academic underperformance.
Reality check: A high acceptance range at BSBI does not remove the need for full document accuracy. A missing APS certificate or an incomplete English-test report will still trigger a rejection at Berlin School of Business and Innovation, even with strong Class 12 or bachelor’s marks.

Key insight: BSBI’s absence from global university ranking tables matters less than the standing of its partner universities. Degrees are awarded by University for the Creative Arts, Roehampton, Chichester and Concordia University Chicago, each of which appears in ranking tables that shape employer recognition for Indian graduates.

Berlin School of Business and Innovation Placements and Career Outcomes 2027
Berlin School of Business and Innovation supports graduate employment through a dedicated Career Services team and its partnership with the JobTeaser recruitment platform. Employment outcomes vary by programme and awarding partner university.
- Career Support Volume: as per the BSBI Career Services report 2024, over 690 career coaching sessions were delivered and more than 600 students received one-on-one career guidance
- Job Platform Access: JobTeaser network reaches 60,000+ recruiters and companies across Europe
- Placement Rate: 80% to 85% (estimated); official year-on-year placement data is not disclosed by BSBI
- Post-Study Visa: Germany’s 18-month job-seeking residence permit is available to Indian graduates completing an on-campus degree
- Typical Sectors: business development, information technology, sales, marketing, tourism and hospitality management roles across Berlin, Hamburg and other EU cities
Insider note: Placement outcomes at Berlin School of Business and Innovation depend heavily on individual networking and internship pursuit. The Career Services team supports rather than places students, so proactive job-searching from Semester 1 is standard practice for Indian graduates.
Berlin School of Business and Innovation vs Peer Universities
Berlin School of Business and Innovation competes with other private business schools in Germany that focus on English-taught programmes and international intakes. Peer comparison uses Collegedunia Study Abroad ranks and one-line differentiators, since QS/THE do not rank most of this peer set.
| University | Collegedunia Study Abroad 2026 | Differentiator |
|---|---|---|
| Berlin School of Business and Innovation | #68 of 80 (Germany); #718 of 824 (Global) | UK, US and Italian partner degrees; four annual intakes; INR 15 to 17 lakh masters tuition |
| GISMA University of Applied Sciences | NA | Berlin and Potsdam campuses under Global University Systems; UK and German dual-award pathways |
| SRH Berlin University of Applied Sciences | NA | State-recognised private university with its own degree-awarding authority |
| IU International University of Applied Sciences | NA | Largest private university in Germany with online, hybrid and on-campus MBA options |
| ESMT Berlin | NA | Top-ranked German MBA per Financial Times 2026; premium tuition tier and stricter entry bar |
Berlin School of Business and Innovation stands out for accessible academic thresholds and mid-tier tuition among Germany’s private business schools. Higher-ranked peers like ESMT Berlin cost four to six times more but carry stronger MBA employer recognition through global ranking tables.
Key insight: Peer benchmarking is not just about ranks. Fees, intake flexibility and post-study visa duration matter equally for Indian applicants comparing BSBI against premium schools like ESMT or WHU Otto Beisheim.
Berlin School of Business and Innovation fits Indian applicants who want an English-taught business degree in Germany without the academic bar of top-ranked European schools. A total investment of INR 30 to 40 lakh for tuition and living is offset by the 18-month post-study residence permit that lets graduates search for skilled work in the German job market.
BSBI is not the right choice for candidates targeting elite European business schools or investment banking recruiters. Applicants with strong academics aiming for Financial Times MBA-ranked programmes should look at ESMT Berlin or WHU Otto Beisheim Graduate School of Management instead.
Berlin School of Business and Innovation FAQs
Ques. What partner universities award Berlin School of Business and Innovation degrees?
Ans. BSBI degrees are validated and awarded by five overseas partner universities: University for the Creative Arts (UK), University of Roehampton (UK), University of Chichester (UK), Concordia University Chicago (US) and UniNettuno International Telematic University (Italy). Each partner sets its own admission thresholds, so the awarding institution determines your final degree certificate. The chosen partner also shapes English test requirements and any programme-specific work-experience conditions for Indian applicants.
Ques. Can Indian students work part-time during their BSBI studies?
Ans. Yes. Non-EU students at BSBI can work up to 140 full days or 280 half days per year in Germany, as per the German Residence Act. Typical part-time earnings from student jobs range between EUR 450 and EUR 900 per month (INR 49,500 to 99,000), which helps offset Berlin’s living costs. Students must secure a tax identification number and statutory health insurance before starting any paid employment in Germany.
Ques. Does Berlin School of Business and Innovation accept an MOI letter for IELTS waiver?
Ans. Yes. BSBI accepts a Medium of Instruction (MOI) letter from your bachelor’s institution as an English-language waiver, if your undergraduate coursework was fully in English. The letter must be issued on official university letterhead and signed by the registrar. This exemption saves Indian applicants the cost and time of taking a separate IELTS or TOEFL test, though some partner MBA routes still prefer test scores.
Ques. Is a GRE or GMAT score required for the BSBI Global MBA?
Ans. No. BSBI does not require GRE or GMAT scores for its Global MBA or MSc programmes. Admission decisions rest on bachelor’s degree grades, English test scores and, for the Executive MBA, at least two years of management experience. Concordia University Chicago’s MBA requires a minimum bachelor’s GPA of 2.25 on 4.0 scale (roughly 60% Indian equivalent) but no standardised admissions test score.
Ques. How long does the German student visa take for BSBI applicants?
Ans. The German student visa for BSBI applicants typically takes 8 to 12 weeks from application submission at the VFS Germany centre in India. Indian applicants must show a blocked account with EUR 11,904 for one year of living expenses, proof of BSBI enrolment, valid health insurance and APS certification. Apply at least 3 to 4 months before your intake start date to avoid visa-related enrolment delays.
Ques. What blocked-account amount is required for Berlin School of Business and Innovation students?
Ans. German student visa rules require Indian applicants at BSBI to deposit EUR 11,904 (roughly INR 13.09 lakh) in a blocked account for the first year of study. This fixed annual sum is revised by German authorities each year, releasing EUR 992 per month once you arrive in Germany. Fintiba, Coracle and Expatrio are common blocked-account providers used by Indian students applying to Berlin.
Ques. Are Berlin School of Business and Innovation UK partner degrees valid in India?
Ans. Yes. Degrees from BSBI’s UK partners (University for the Creative Arts, University of Roehampton and University of Chichester) are UK-recognised bachelor’s or master’s qualifications, accepted for further study and private-sector employment in India. Association of Indian Universities (AIU) equivalency certificates are typically needed for Indian government jobs, and applicants should obtain this from AIU after receiving their partner-university transcript.
Ques. Does BSBI offer online or hybrid programmes for Indian students?
Ans. BSBI’s degree programmes are primarily campus-based across Berlin, Hamburg, Paris, Barcelona and Madrid, though the school offers selected online executive programmes and short professional courses. Indian applicants studying online do not receive a German student visa; only on-campus enrolment supports the residence permit and the 18-month post-study job-seeking visa. Verify online course availability at berlinsbi.com before applying, since programme catalogues change per intake.

Berlin School of Business and Innovation Reviews

Likes
- The students and staff form a multicultural crowd which is also celebrated openly.
- All the staff is really friendly
- The campus is very innovative involving the use of holograms and robots to teach.
Dislikes
- The response time of the teams are too high unless you go see them in person.
- Not all professors can teach you what you wish to learn.
- You will have to rely on self study almost entirely.
Campus Life
- BSBI has multiple campuses. There's one in Berlin, Hamburg, Paris and Barcelona. I was enrolled in the Berlin campus. There aren't many facilities as such but we did have an e-book library and now we have clubs that play different sports.
- Campus celebrations are big by the student council. We celebrate multicultural day, halloween, Diwali, Christmas and many more. The student council is very active and there are representatives in every class for the students.
Fees
- The fee for my 3-year course was 27000 euros, which I decided to pay in 3-yearly installments. I received a scholarship from their end, reducing my fee by about 9000 euros. So then I had to make payments for the remaining amount over the duration of three years. My monthly expenses were about 1000 euros but they fluctuated over the years.
- Rent switched between 450-600 and health insurance is now another 130; apart from that, there's groceries and travel, which come to be around 200-250 euros. Going out expenses depend on person to person.
Likes
- 1.The Fees structure as private university is very cheap and good Compare with other private university although in Germany fees is not applicable in public university but in terms of private it's cheap also take care whenever paying fees be sure to ask everything in mail.
- 2. Easy to get enrolled as they will take additions from all Strems and they have numbers of classes for the same course.
- 3. Exams are easy and if you study little bit it is easier to pass in exams. More then 70% are Indian students.
Dislikes
- 1. As all staff in finance is Indian and they are greedy of money as they are really rude to me at the first day of my university make sure to have all proof with you in written in mail.
- 2. They won't help or give any leads in terms of Job search also and we have to struggle hard with some hope to find a job.
- 3. Quality of education is not good but not bad also if you are studying and asking dobouts teachers will try to help you they will guide us overview of subjects but in detail we have to do by our own.
Campus Life
- I think BSBI has two campuses in Germany. I didn't find such types of facilities like libraries, sports facilities and medical services. If we need library or book support, we can ask our teachers and major festivals on campus. So we have a freshmen party every 4 months.
- Probably because we have three intakes, so that is one of the events they have and also on Christmas we have a Bollywood party night and in terms of extracurricular activities, you will not get time to play like you for extracurricular activities because of this job search and everything.
Fees
- The course cost around 12,000 euros but on the website, if we pay fees in one or two go, they will give a 30% discount, which we have to pay all in one or two go in the gap for 4 months.
- Apart from that, we can also take an installment plan, which will cost 300 euros for a one-time payment.
- Monthly expenses: ( 750 will be total average cost, which include 400 rent for sharing + 130 Insurance + 100 groceries + 50 Transport tickets.) this is mandatory; apart from that, all depends on you.
