Berlin School of Business and Innovation Admission Requirements for Indian Applicants 2027
BSBI applies programme-level academic and English thresholds set by its awarding UK and US partner universities.
Postgraduate Requirements at Berlin School of Business and Innovation
- Academic: Bachelor’s degree with 55% to 60% aggregate or CGPA 5.5/10 (recommended); Concordia MBA needs GPA 2.25/4.0 (roughly 60% Indian equivalent).
- English: IELTS 6.0 overall with 5.5 in each band, TOEFL iBT 80 (0-120 legacy scale), PTE Academic 59 or Duolingo English Test 105.
- Credentials: APS certificate from the German Embassy in India is mandatory for every Indian applicant.
- Standout: Executive MBA needs 2+ years of managerial work experience; GRE and GMAT are not required at BSBI.
Undergraduate Requirements at Berlin School of Business and Innovation
- Academic: Class 12 (CBSE, ICSE or State Board) with 60% aggregate or above (recommended).
- English: IELTS 6.0 (5.5 in bands), TOEFL iBT 80, PTE 59 or Duolingo 105.
- Credentials: APS certificate required before visa; medium-of-instruction letter accepted for some UG waivers.
Key insight: BSBI accepts the Duolingo English Test at 105 for both UG and PG, which lets Indian applicants skip the IELTS booking backlog in tier-2 cities.
Berlin School of Business and Innovation Acceptance Rate 2027
BSBI does not publish an official acceptance rate. Third-party trackers place the estimated selectivity at 60% to 85% (estimated), placing BSBI in the moderate-selectivity band typical of English-medium private business schools in Germany.
Selection weight sits on the academic transcript, the statement of purpose and English scores, with an admissions interview held for MBA and Executive MBA candidates. Rejections most often trace to sub-55% bachelor GPAs, missing APS certification or IELTS scores below 6.0 overall.
Reality check: An 80% offer probability sounds generous, but Indian applicants still fail on APS delays and financial-proof shortfalls rather than academic grounds, so paperwork discipline decides your seat.

Berlin School of Business and Innovation Rankings 2027
BSBI does not appear in the QS World, THE World or US News Global Universities editions, since these tables restrict listings to research-doctoral universities. Institutional recognition comes from the QS Stars 4-Star Overall rating and Collegedunia Study Abroad ranking.
| Ranking Body | Latest Edition | Previous Edition | Two Editions Back |
|---|---|---|---|
| QS World University Rankings | 2027: Not ranked | 2026: Not ranked | 2025: Not ranked |
| THE World University Rankings | 2026: Not ranked | 2025: Not ranked | 2024: Not ranked |

| Collegedunia Study Abroad | 2026: #718 of 824 globally, #68 of 80 in Germany | NA | NA |
[Source: QS, THE, US News, Collegedunia Study Abroad]
Institutional recognition instead comes through the QS 4-Star Overall rating, AMBA and BGA Best Innovation Strategy Award 2025 and the QS Reimagine Education Award Bronze 2024. PRME Champion designation from the UN-linked Principles for Responsible Management Education signals accreditation weight for Indian recruiters.
Key insight: The absence of a QS World rank does not block German student-visa approval, since German visa officers assess university recognition through the anabin database, where BSBI holds an H+ (recognised) status.

Berlin School of Business and Innovation Placements and Career Outcomes 2027
BSBI does not publish a formal placement rate, positioning itself instead as a career-support institution linked to a global recruiter pool through JobTeaser.
- Career support scale: 690 one-to-one coaching sessions delivered in 2024 to 600 students across all campuses.
- Recruiter network: JobTeaser platform gives BSBI students access to over 60,000 recruiter listings across Europe.
- Post-study work rights: Germany’s 18-month job-seeking residence permit converts to a Blue Card once a graduate lands a role paying EUR 45,300 or above.
- Median starting salary in Berlin: EUR 45,000 to 55,000 (market median, INR 49.50 to 60.50 lakh) for MBA and MSc graduates in Berlin business roles.
- Sectors: consulting, digital marketing, data analytics, tourism management and financial services dominate BSBI outcomes.
Insider note: German employers weight B1-level German heavily for local hiring, so Indian graduates who add a Goethe Institut B1 certificate during studies see materially higher interview rates.
Berlin School of Business and Innovation vs Peer Universities
The peer set below covers English-medium private business schools in Germany that compete for the same Indian applicant pool, priced against BSBI’s tuition range.
| University | QS World Rank 2027 | CD Study Abroad Rank | Avg PG Fee (EUR / INR lakh) | Differentiator |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Berlin School of Business and Innovation | Not ranked | #68 in Germany | EUR 14,425 to 19,440 / 15.87 to 21.38 lakh | UK/US dual-award routes with GUS network scholarships |
| GISMA Business School | Not ranked | NA | NA (verify on GISMA fee page) | GUS sister school with Grenoble and Kingston pathways |
| IU International University of Applied Sciences | Not ranked | NA | NA (verify on IU fee page) | Distance-first alternative with English on-campus MBA option |
| ESMT Berlin | Ranked in QS Global MBA top 20 | NA | EUR 49,500 / 54.45 lakh (market median) | Research-intensive, GMAT-mandatory, higher tuition tier |
BSBI stands out on cost per year of tuition and on the breadth of UK and US partner-degree pathways available under one roof. It suits Indian applicants who want a mainstream English MBA in Berlin without the GMAT and ESMT-level price tag; those seeking Financial Times MBA visibility should look at ESMT or Mannheim instead.
BSBI is the right pick for Indian graduates aiming for a mid-priced 18-month English MBA in Berlin, where the total investment of INR 15 to 21 lakh in tuition sits well below German salary-median outcomes in the INR 49.50 to 60.50 lakh band. The German post-study 18-month job-seeking permit and UCA-validated degree give strong return on investment for aspiring consultants and data-role hires.
BSBI is not the right fit for research-focused applicants targeting doctoral pathways or top-100 QS-ranked business schools, since it is a teaching-first institution outside those tables. Applicants prioritising a QS-ranked German MBA and comfortable with a EUR 45,000-plus fee should evaluate ESMT Berlin as the realistic alternative.
Berlin School of Business and Innovation FAQs
Ques. Does BSBI accept Indian students without GRE or GMAT scores?
Ans. Yes, BSBI does not require GRE or GMAT for any Master or MBA programme. Selection weight sits on the bachelor’s transcript, work experience for executive tracks and English scores. Applicants without standardised test scores compete on equal terms, provided academic aggregate meets the 55% to 60% recommended threshold and IELTS or an equivalent English score is submitted with the file.
Ques. How does BSBI handle the mandatory APS certificate for Indian applicants?
Ans. BSBI issues offer letters before APS is complete, but the German embassy will not release a student visa without the APS certificate. Book the APS interview slot at the German Embassy in New Delhi or Consulate in Chennai 10 to 12 weeks before your intended visa appointment. Fee is EUR 25 and covers verification of both academic and identity documents.
Ques. Can Indian students at BSBI work part-time during their studies?
Ans. Yes, Indian students on the German student visa can work 140 full days or 280 half days per calendar year. Typical part-time roles in Berlin pay EUR 12 to 15 per hour (INR 1,320 to 1,650) in retail, hospitality and campus support jobs. Working hours must not exceed 20 hours a week during teaching weeks; unlimited hours are allowed during official semester breaks.
Ques. What English test waivers are available at Berlin School of Business and Innovation?
Ans. BSBI accepts a medium-of-instruction letter from your Indian university for a limited English waiver, provided the entire bachelor’s degree was taught and examined in English. Applicants who studied at UGC-recognised English-medium universities can request the waiver during application. The waiver is decided case-by-case; strong academic profiles from top-tier Indian universities carry the highest approval odds.
Ques. Is BSBI recognised for Indian education loan approval from public sector banks?
Ans. Yes, BSBI is listed in the anabin database with H+ status, which qualifies the school for education loans from SBI, Bank of Baroda, Bank of India and Union Bank of India. Loans up to INR 40 lakh are commonly approved on collateral for the 18-month MBA. HDFC Credila, Prodigy Finance and MPOWER Financing also lend to BSBI students without physical collateral in most cases.
Ques. Can BSBI students bring dependent family members on a spouse visa?
Ans. Yes, married students on the BSBI programme can bring a spouse and children on the German family reunion visa. Financial proof needs to show an additional EUR 12,000 blocked account per dependent alongside your own. Spouses gain full work rights immediately on arrival, which many Indian dual-earner households use to offset the tuition load during studies in Berlin.
Ques. How does BSBI issue the conditional offer letter for Indian applicants?
Ans. BSBI typically issues a conditional offer within 5 to 10 working days of receiving a complete application. Common conditions include final semester transcripts, IELTS score submission and the APS certificate. Conditions are cleared by email upload to admissions before enrolment; the unconditional offer letter and enrolment confirmation trigger fee payment and visa document release.
Ques. What is the refund policy at BSBI if the German visa application is rejected?
Ans. BSBI refunds tuition in full if a German student visa is rejected, minus a EUR 500 administrative charge. Applicants must submit the official visa rejection letter within 30 days of the refusal decision to trigger the refund. Application fees and deposits paid to the partner UK universities are non-refundable. Refunds are processed within 6 to 8 weeks to the original payment source.

Berlin School of Business and Innovation Reviews

Likes
- The students and staff form a multicultural crowd which is also celebrated openly.
- All the staff is really friendly
- The campus is very innovative involving the use of holograms and robots to teach.
Dislikes
- The response time of the teams are too high unless you go see them in person.
- Not all professors can teach you what you wish to learn.
- You will have to rely on self study almost entirely.
Campus Life
- BSBI has multiple campuses. There's one in Berlin, Hamburg, Paris and Barcelona. I was enrolled in the Berlin campus. There aren't many facilities as such but we did have an e-book library and now we have clubs that play different sports.
- Campus celebrations are big by the student council. We celebrate multicultural day, halloween, Diwali, Christmas and many more. The student council is very active and there are representatives in every class for the students.
Fees
- The fee for my 3-year course was 27000 euros, which I decided to pay in 3-yearly installments. I received a scholarship from their end, reducing my fee by about 9000 euros. So then I had to make payments for the remaining amount over the duration of three years. My monthly expenses were about 1000 euros but they fluctuated over the years.
- Rent switched between 450-600 and health insurance is now another 130; apart from that, there's groceries and travel, which come to be around 200-250 euros. Going out expenses depend on person to person.
Likes
- 1.The Fees structure as private university is very cheap and good Compare with other private university although in Germany fees is not applicable in public university but in terms of private it's cheap also take care whenever paying fees be sure to ask everything in mail.
- 2. Easy to get enrolled as they will take additions from all Strems and they have numbers of classes for the same course.
- 3. Exams are easy and if you study little bit it is easier to pass in exams. More then 70% are Indian students.
Dislikes
- 1. As all staff in finance is Indian and they are greedy of money as they are really rude to me at the first day of my university make sure to have all proof with you in written in mail.
- 2. They won't help or give any leads in terms of Job search also and we have to struggle hard with some hope to find a job.
- 3. Quality of education is not good but not bad also if you are studying and asking dobouts teachers will try to help you they will guide us overview of subjects but in detail we have to do by our own.
Campus Life
- I think BSBI has two campuses in Germany. I didn't find such types of facilities like libraries, sports facilities and medical services. If we need library or book support, we can ask our teachers and major festivals on campus. So we have a freshmen party every 4 months.
- Probably because we have three intakes, so that is one of the events they have and also on Christmas we have a Bollywood party night and in terms of extracurricular activities, you will not get time to play like you for extracurricular activities because of this job search and everything.
Fees
- The course cost around 12,000 euros but on the website, if we pay fees in one or two go, they will give a 30% discount, which we have to pay all in one or two go in the gap for 4 months.
- Apart from that, we can also take an installment plan, which will cost 300 euros for a one-time payment.
- Monthly expenses: ( 750 will be total average cost, which include 400 rent for sharing + 130 Insurance + 100 groceries + 50 Transport tickets.) this is mandatory; apart from that, all depends on you.
