Martin Luther University of Halle is a quality institution in Germany having a vintage of 516 years and officially accredited by the Ministry of Education and Cultural Affairs of the Land of Sachsen-Anhalt. Martin Luther University of Halle receives application through Unit-Assist only for international students, including Indians. It is a common application platform for around 180 German Universities.

Admission Requirement for International Students

Following are the step which is supposed to be followed.

  • Browsing the course and understanding the requirements /eligibility for the same.
  • Assembling the required documents / transcripts and getting it verified from Uni- assist itself before final submission
  • Applying online and submitting required Document / CV/ statements along with application form.
  • Handling Fee will be applicable 75 euros for First course and 30 Euro afterwards for each course choice.
  • Tracking the application status and resubmit if any document required.

Language Requirement for International Students

German language proficiency can be demonstrated by submitting one of the following scores for International students admission in german-taught programs:

  • Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang Stufe 2 (DSH-2)
  • TestDaF mit mindestens Stufe 4 in jedem Teilbereich
  • telc Deutsch C1 Hochschule
  • Goethe-Zertifikat C2: GDS
  • Deutsches Sprachdiplom der Kultusministerkonferenz Stufe 2 (DSD-II)
  • Zeugnis der Feststellungsprüfung (FSP)

Visa Requirements for International Students

After receiving the offer from university the student can apply for study Visa by Submitting the following docs:

  • Letter of acceptance
  • A valid passport
  • Duly filled application form downloaded from the German Embassy website.
  • Proof of financial Means ( opening up a German blocked account)
  • Proof of health insurance
  • Proof of English proficiency

Martin Luther University of Halle Undergraduate Admission

All the academic records/transcripts from previously attended institutions (School and graduation certificates) should be first certified by Uni assist and then submitted on the same platform for application process. Official transcripts that are not in English must be accompanied along with the certified English or German translation.

Note: For those whose school-leaving certificate isn’t recognized in Germany. Once completing the course they have to sit for the test “Feststellungsprüfung”. Upon succeeding the student will be awarded the certificate which is known as a university entrance qualification.

Postgraduate courses are offered in masters and doctoral programs. The language of instruction for some of the masters program is English such as Master of Accounting, Taxation and Finance and a Masters in Business Studies.

Master of Science ( Agricultural Science)Bachelor's degree program in Agricultural Science with at least 180 credit points Main Course Language is German hence DSH 2 qualified
Master of Arts ( History )Bachelors in History /or degree in comparable subject area (with at least 60 credits) Prior knowledge of English, Latin and other modern foreign language in successfully completed language courses of at least 60 teaching hours or at least one level of UNIcert 1 or equivalent.
M. Sc ( Geography)Bachelor's degree in a space-related degree program or comparable Degree Program and has a grade of at least 2.5. Experience dealing with IT technologies

It is recommended to plan and start the application process at least 3-4 months prior to commencement of course, so there might be time for any changes if required and visa application process. Finding work can be difficult as there are unemployment issues in the area. However searching accommodation is easy and you could get lots of off campus options besides the On -Campus residential Halls. The tutors from the university would also help students in searching the required accommodation.
