Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) is the test conducted to test the German efficiency of the prospective students. The common reference levels for the given tests are B1, B2, C1, and C2. The University of Mannheim requires a course-specific grade. C2 for Masters program.
Other tests that are accepted by the university are: Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang (DSH), Test Deutsch als Fremdsprache (TestDaF), Deutsches Sprachdiplom der Kultusministerkonferenz (Sprachdiplom, DSD) and Goethe Zertifikat.
All the international students who have obtained Abitur or its equivalent in Germany need not pay tuition fee.
