University of Mannheim Programs and Residence

  • The university offers not only traditional programs but interdisciplinary and unique programs such as the bachelor's degree program in integrated LL.B. and state examination program in Law, and Culture and Economy.
  • The university does not provide accommodation. Studierendenwerk is a non-profit organization for student affairs in Germany. They provide shared rooms. Otherwise, dormitories and apartments can be opted according to the budget.

General Requirements:

Official academic transcripts, official program completion certificate, mark sheets, curriculum vitae, Aptitude Test Scores (for students applying for Bachelor programs), Letter of Motivation, proof of extracurricular activities and language proficiency.

Additional Requirements:

Birth certificate, Passport copy, Insurance documentation and valid Student Visa.

A GMAT score of 500 is required for the Masters in Business Informatics & Masters in Data Science. For Masters in Business Research at least 630 credits in GMAT are required.

GRE scores are not required for Masters in Sociology & Masters in Political Science.

English Language Proficiency Test:

Only Masters in Business Research, Data Science, Management, Comparative Business Law, Political Science, Sociology, Economics, and Business Informatics are taught in English. All Bachelors courses are taught in German. Minimum English Language Proficiency test scores required for admission

German Language Proficiency Test:

Minimum German Language Proficiency test scores required for admission.

Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) is the test conducted to test the German efficiency of the prospective students. The common reference levels for the given tests are B1, B2, C1, and C2. The University of Mannheim requires a course-specific grade. C2 for Masters program.

Other tests that are accepted by the university are: Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang (DSH), Test Deutsch als Fremdsprache (TestDaF), Deutsches Sprachdiplom der Kultusministerkonferenz (Sprachdiplom, DSD) and Goethe Zertifikat.

University of Mannheim Scholarships

The university provides at least 250 scholarships per year.

  • Deutschland Scholarship: This is awarded for talented and high achieving students at public and state recognized institutions of higher education in Germany. The scholarship is for 300 Euro per month.
  • The Mannheim Sports Scholarship: The scholarship is for 100 Euro per month. It also finances tutors for everyday studies.
  • Bronnbacher Scholarship: This is awarded to students excelling in cultural skills.
