EBS University Admission Requirements for Indian Applicants 2027
The core Indian-applicant requirements combine an accredited degree, an English test, APS certification and, for the MBA, professional work experience.
EBS University Postgraduate Requirements for Indian Students
- Bachelor degree: 60% aggregate or CGPA 6.0/10 (recommended) from a UGC-recognised university
- English test: IELTS 7.0, TOEFL iBT 95 (0-120 legacy scale), Duolingo 125 or TOEIC 945
- APS certificate: mandatory for Indian visa applicants before file submission
- MBA-specific: minimum 2 years of full-time professional experience plus admissions interview
EBS University Undergraduate Requirements for Indian Students
- Class 12: 70% to 85% (recommended); CBSE, ICSE and state boards accepted
- English test: IELTS 6.0, TOEFL iBT 80 (0-120 legacy scale), TOEIC 785 or Cambridge FCE grade A or B
- APS certificate: mandatory for Indian visa applicants
EBS University accepts GMAT (classic or Focus edition), GRE, the internal Business Admissions Test (BAT), the EBSgrad Test and the Common Admissions Test (CAT) for master admissions. Applicants for the PhD in Business Administration need C1 English or TOEFL iBT 100.
Key insight: English test is waived if the bachelor degree was completed in English or the applicant has 2 or more years of professional experience in an English-speaking country.
EBS University Acceptance Rate 2027
EBS University does not publish an official institutional acceptance rate. Third-party aggregator data places admission at approximately 50% (estimated), suggesting selective but attainable entry for well-prepared international applicants who meet the academic and English thresholds.
Selectivity varies notably by programme. The Full-Time MBA is typically the most competitive because it demands 2 years of prior work experience plus a mandatory interview. Bachelor programmes tend to admit a wider share of qualified Class 12 applicants who clear the English test.
Reality check: The 50% figure is an aggregator estimate, not an official disclosure. A strong Indian file with 65%+ bachelor grades, IELTS 7.0 and a clear career goal usually clears the bar for management masters.
EBS University Fees and Cost of Living for Indian Students 2027

EBS University Campus, Facilities and Student Life
EBS University runs two campuses: the historic Oestrich-Winkel campus in the Rheingau wine region and the executive campus in Wiesbaden, both within a 40-minute train ride of Frankfurt.
- Location and transit: Oestrich-Winkel is 20 minutes from Wiesbaden and 40 minutes from Frankfurt am Main by regional train; semester tickets cover regional transit
- Housing: student dorms and shared apartments range € 350 to € 500 per month (₹ 38,182 to ₹ 54,545); guaranteed placement is not offered but the university housing office assists international admits
- Notable facility: Reichartshausen Palace, a listed 12th-century building, serves as the flagship academic block on the Oestrich-Winkel campus
- Indian community: small but growing across master and MBA cohorts; the EBS International Office runs orientation and buddy programmes for new arrivals
What Indian students say: Campus is small and community-driven, so cohort connections are strong. Frankfurt’s proximity is the practical advantage for finance and consulting internships during the semester.

EBS University Placements and Career Outcomes 2027
EBS University does not disclose a headline placement percentage. Graduate destinations concentrate in Frankfurt-region finance, consulting, automotive and real estate roles, supported by the EBS Career Development Center and the Alumni Network of 8,000+.
- Median MBA starting salary: € 55,000 to € 70,000 per year (₹ 59.99 Lakh to ₹ 76.36 Lakh), market median for German MBA graduates; not officially disclosed by EBS
- Top sectors: banking and asset management, strategy consulting, automotive OEM management, real estate investment, industry management trainee programmes
- Career services: EBS Career Development Center runs recruitment fairs, one-on-one coaching, CV clinics and corporate networking events with German and European employers
- Post-study work visa: 18-month German job-seeker residence permit follows graduation; conversion to EU Blue Card is available at salary threshold € 45,300 in 2026 (₹ 49.42 Lakh)
- Indian alumni footprint: present across Frankfurt investment banks, Big Four consulting and automotive strategy roles; verify individual profiles on the EBS alumni portal

EBS University vs Peer Universities
The peer set below groups EBS University with private German business schools and one public benchmark for cost comparison.
| University | QS World Rank 2027 | Avg Annual PG Fee (EUR) | Avg Annual PG Fee (INR Lakh) | Differentiator |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| EBS University | Not ranked | € 16,890 (estimated) | ₹ 18.42 Lakh (estimated) | Rheingau and Wiesbaden base, AACSB, 12-month MBA |
| WHU Otto Beisheim School of Management | Not ranked in QS 2027 | € 15,000 (estimated) | ₹ 16.36 Lakh (estimated) | Elite triple-accredited private school, top MiM cohort |
| Frankfurt School of Finance and Management | Not ranked in QS 2027 | € 19,000 (estimated) | ₹ 20.72 Lakh (estimated) | Finance-first curriculum, ECB proximity |
| ESMT Berlin | Not ranked in QS 2027 | € 21,000 (estimated) | ₹ 22.90 Lakh (estimated) | Executive tier, Berlin capital network |
| Mannheim Business School (public) | Listed in QS 2027 (verify position) | € 19,750 (estimated) | ₹ 21.54 Lakh (estimated) | Top German public business school heritage |
EBS University stands out for its 12-month Full-Time MBA duration, absence of an application fee and rolling admissions that suit Indian applicants filing outside standard European windows. Its Rheingau setting is smaller than Frankfurt city rivals, which favours cohort intimacy over metropolitan scale.
EBS University fits Indian applicants seeking an English-taught, triple-accredited German master or MBA in finance, management or analytics. Programme investment of ₹ 32 Lakh to ₹ 60 Lakh balances against median European MBA salaries of € 55,000 to € 65,000, giving a workable return for candidates aiming at Frankfurt finance or Rhineland consulting entry. The 18-month German post-study work visa is EBS’s strongest Indian-specific advantage.
EBS University is not the right pick for applicants who need a QS top-100 world ranking on their file or want a tuition-free German pathway. Public alternatives like Mannheim Business School offer stronger public-university brand at lower cost for management-oriented candidates who can accept slower rolling admissions.
EBS University FAQs
Ques. Does EBS University charge an application fee for Indian students?
Ans. No, EBS University does not charge an application fee for any degree programme. Indian applicants can submit their file, transcripts, English test and personal statement without paying a processing fee. The only compulsory pre-application cost is APS certification at the Academic Evaluation Centre in New Delhi, which currently costs approximately € 250 (₹ 27,272).
Ques. How long does the Full-Time MBA at EBS take to complete?
Ans. The Full-Time MBA at EBS University runs 12 months across two semesters, with intakes in August 2026 and January 2027 for the current cycle. Total tuition is € 29,780 (₹ 32.49 Lakh). Because the degree is 12 months, graduates qualify for Germany’s 18-month post-study job-seeker visa on completion, giving 30 months of legal stay from programme start.
Ques. Can Indian applicants waive the IELTS requirement at EBS University?
Ans. Yes, EBS University waives the IELTS or TOEFL requirement in three cases: the bachelor degree was completed entirely in English at any recognised university, the applicant holds native English speaker status or the applicant has 2 or more years of full-time work experience in an English-speaking country.
