University of Stuttgart Eligibility for Indian Students

The University of Stuttgart evaluates Indian degrees through the KMK anabin database, which classifies your university and Bachelor’s programme. Country-specific paperwork adds one more step: Indian applicants must submit an APS certificate from the German Embassy alongside their application.

• UG general entry (recommended): Class XII (CBSE, ISC, or state board) with around 65%, plus one year of undergraduate study in India before Stuttgart will consider you for a Bachelor’s.
• PG general entry (recommended): Bachelor’s degree of 3 to 4 years in a related field, minimum around 60 to 70%. 
• English tests accepted (English-taught master’s): IELTS Academic 6.5 to 7.0, TOEFL iBT 5.0 
• German tests accepted (German-taught programmes): TestDaF 4x4, DSH-2 or higher, Goethe C1/C2, DSD II, or telc Deutsch C1 Hochschule.

University of Stuttgart Application Process on C@MPUS

The University of Stuttgart runs applications on its own C@MPUS portal — it does not use uni-assist. Every step below is online; the university’s own guidance is blunt: "Please do not submit any paper applications." Because Stuttgart charges no application fee, your only paid dependencies are the APS certificate and your English or German test — get both done before opening the portal.

1. Register a C@MPUS account at the University of Stuttgart application portal and start a new application for Winter Semester 2027/28.
2. Confirm the application fee status: no application fee is charged by the University of Stuttgart — the only pre-application cost is the APS certificate from the German Embassy in India.
3. Upload scanned Class XII marksheet, Bachelor’s transcripts, degree certificate (or interim transcript), passport bio page, and photo.
4. Upload English or German test score report and the mandatory APS certificate for India.
5. Complete the programme-specific supplementary form (INFOTECH, WASTE, WAREM, and ITECH all publish separate adjunct forms).
6. Submit before the programme deadline — C@MPUS closes at midnight German time on the day specified.
7. Track your application status inside C@MPUS; offer letters land in the same account you registered with.

University of Stuttgart Admission Decisions Timeline

Once C@MPUS closes, the programme committee reviews each file, and English-taught engineering master’s programmes may add a shortlisting interview. Offer letters, admission notices, and any conditional offers arrive through C@MPUS, not by post. • Deferral: the University of Stuttgart does not offer automatic deferral — a missed cycle means a fresh application in the next intake.

Why the 71% Figure is Only Half the Story

Open-admission Bachelor’s programmes in German are essentially uncapped for applicants who meet Class XII + German-language + APS thresholds. Add these to the denominator and the overall rate climbs. Selective English master’s committees, by contrast, filter on Bachelor’s GPA and prerequisite coverage — an INFOTECH cohort with an IELTS 7.0 floor cannot be modeled off the same 71% number.

Stuttgart Admit Odds for Indian Applicants

Indian applicants land closer to the middle of the funnel — the APS filter alone removes casual applicants, and the English-taught engineering master’s tend to admit candidates with a first-class Bachelor’s from an anabin H+ university. Prepare as if the effective rate for INFOTECH-class programmes is between 25 and 40%, based on published cohort sizes versus known application volumes; the university does not publish an official per-programme figure.

The Winter Semester 2027/28 window is the one Indian applicants should build a plan around: open the APS file now, sit IELTS by November 2026, and treat 15 January 2027 as the working deadline even if your programme officially closes on 15 February.
