    Dublin City University is the first university in Ireland to incorporate work placements as part of its degree courses and to offer credits for extracurricular activities. The university also takes pride in its USTART start-up accelerator program, which focuses on supporting its student's business ideas with funding and space. Apart from these innovative programs, the university offers a diverse range of UG and PG degrees through its four faculties.

The major three rules that the university aims at focussing at the health and well being of students, enhancing student experience with COVID-19 constraints, and continue providing quality education. Some of the important information that you must be aware of as a prospective student is:

    • Semester 1 for freshmen students will begin on October 5.
    • Orientation for first-year students will take place online as soon as they accept their offers/acceptance letter
    • Semester 1 will last for 10 weeks.
    • Most programs will be delivered in a hybrid format and on-campus classes will be scheduled for no less than half a day.  
    • The continuing student (semester 2) will be mostly offered to pursue education online.

    • A fully-flexible mode of accommodation will be offered.

    Dublin City University Programs

    A wide range of UG, PG, and doctoral programs are taught in 4 faculties- Faculty of Humanities and Social Science, DCU Institute of Education, Faculty of Science and Health, and Faculty of Engineering and Computing.

    • HSS Faculty has around 3600 students studying across 12 UG, 26 PG, and 7 research programs. Course fields available for study include journalism, law, cultural innovation, and more.
    • The institute of education is newly established and offers students with language programs, early childhood education programs, and more.
    • The faculty of science and health has around 3400 students studying 24 UG and 25 PG programs at Dublin City University.
    • Offering education to 1940 students with 35% of this student population of foreign origin. This faculty of DCU has the lowest number of programs- 9 UG and 10 PG engineering & technology programs.  

    Dublin City University Campus and Accommodation

    • The university has three campuses located in the north of Dublin- Glasnevin, St. Patrick, and All Hallows campuses. 
    • DCU has two libraries- a new state of the library located at St Patrick complementing the previous Glasnevin library.
    • Accommodations are available for Glasnevin and St. Patrick campus. 
      • Glasnevin has two styles of accommodations- Larkfield apartments and Hampstead apartments. Both available for first-year students. The former has two-bedroom apartments and the latter has 4-5 ensuite bedrooms.

    1. The university and course is ranked in the top 100 in the world by the Financial times. 2. The course modules were very appealing. Especially the Practicum- Applied research and the Next Generation Management module. 3. Upon completion of your course, you are eligible to look for employment for 2 years.

    Course Curriculum :

    The Msc in Management (Business) includes core disciplines of Business such as Economics, Accounting, HR, Technology Management, etc. Most modules require academic research. Specifically, the Next Generation Management and Practicum- Applied Research module involves extensive academic and industry research. The NGM module gives you the opportunity to develop your analytical thinking and writing skills. And through the Practicum module, you work with a real client and submit a project report. Both these modules are truly an enriching experience and add to your personal and professional development.

    I was looking for a career to pursue after passing out my 12th standard. It was then my friend suggested that his elder brother is studying business in Ireland and advised me to opt for graduation in an abroad university. I discussed this with my family and got their support for my graduation from Ireland. I saw a future for myself in business studies, so I decided to apply for the same course.

    This course has improved my knowledge a lot. I now know more about international business, real industry and business practices, and finance management.

    I wanted to pursue my master's abroad, hence applied to universities in the USA, Canada, Australia, and Ireland. Although I got selected in about 5 universities, I chose this one as this was the most affordable for me and also the curriculum of my chosen program was extremely good. For the application process, I had to submit my application form through the official website of the university that cost an amount of €60.

    Course Curriculum :

    The program combined study for a Master’s degree while gaining business knowledge and skills, and exemptions from professional accounting examinations at the same time. The curriculum encouraged critical thinking, teamwork and communication, analytical and managerial competence, and helped me develop a diverse range of professional attributes which equipped me to excel and to adopt leadership positions in our professional lives.

    The program is providing me with an introduction to the foundations of business and guide us to a specialization in economics, management, finance, marketing or HR. The program has continually adapted to reflect business studies theory and, especially, developments in business practice in the real world and through elements such as business simulations and new enterprise development projects, faculty is set out to stimulate and foster imaginative thinking among in us, and give us the skills to arrive at solutions to business problems.

    I planned to go to other country for better exposure and knowledge, I chose Ireland for that because it's a beautiful country and their education standards are great as well. My former professor guided me to choose this university considering that Dublin City University is among top Uni in Ireland. The application process was done online through the PAC application portal that cost me €60.

    Course Curriculum :

    The one-year program provided me with aviation knowledge in all key aviation sectors combined with an education in strategic management. I was given more practical and skills based knowledge than the theoretical bookish knowledge. Also, as part of the curriculum, the university used to take us on fields trip to provide us industry exposure. The program was quite packed, but if was very effective.
