AICTE Announces Revised Academic Calendar for 2020-21; Check Official Notice Here

All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has issued an official notice on October 15, 2020, declaring the revised  2020-21 academic calendar.

Due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, various State Governments and ongoing admission authorities, including IITs and NITs, urged AICTE to extend the deadline for the first-year admission to UG engineering courses as well as Diploma lateral entry.

Thus, AICTE accepted the request and decided to revise the last date by November 30, 2020, for admission to first-year Engineering courses (UG and Diploma lateral entry).

The notice further states that classes for the new session will begin from December 01, 2020.

AICTE Previous Academic Calendar 

According to the guidelines issued earlier on August 13, 2020, the authorities stated that the classes may be conducted online or offline (pen and paper) or blended mode (online + offline) following the guidelines regarding COVID-19 precautions.

The academic calendar may alter in the future, depending upon the COVID-19 pandemic situation.

Earlier, AICTE also informed that the institutions who have already commenced the classes according to the AICTE previous calendar could either postpone the classes or conduct special classes for the students who would appear in the Graduation / Diploma final year examination.
