All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) is inviting applications for Saksham Scholarship Scheme and Pragati Scholarship Scheme 2020-21 for technical degree/diploma students from recognized institutions across India. 

The students will be awarded scholarships up to INR 50,000 per annum and other benefits. Eligible candidates can apply online at the official website (scholarships.gov.in).

The students who have been previously awarded the scholarship can also reapply for renewal of the same.

The prime motto of this scholarship is to encourage technical education by giving financial help to specially-abled students and girl children for the continuation of their professional studies without any hindrances. 

Earlier, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has decided to increase the scholarships provided to women candidates to encourage technical education among women.

To impart technical education among women belonging to economically weaker families, the scholarship named as 'Pragati' was under practice. Families having annual income less than INR 8 lakh were eligible to apply for scholarships. Read More

Saksham and Pragati Scholarships 2020: How to Apply Online

  1. Visit AICTE Portal (aicte-pragati-saksham-gov.in) to register for Pragati or Saksham Scheme.
  2. Click on “Register Here” to create a new registration. Enter your details and click on “Register”.
  3. Confirmation email will be sent to your registered e-mail ID. 
  4. Login again at https://www.aicte-pragati-saksham-gov.in/ with the registered email Id/Username and Password and enter all your details.
  5. You need to attach the Scanned documents under the Tab “Attachments”. 
  6. Click on Submit to end your registration.

Saksham Scholarship: Know in Detail 

AICTE implemented the Saksham scholarship as an MHRD with a prime aim to provide encouragement and support to specially-abled children. This is an attempt to give a chance to every young student, who is otherwise specially-abled, the opportunity to study further and prepare for a brighter future through technical education/ knowledge.

Saksham Scholarship: Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility Criteria for Saksham Scholarship Scheme is as follows:

  • Part of the First year of Degree level course OR Second year of Degree level
  • less than 40% can apply for a scholarship.
  • Family income was not more than Rs. 8 lakh per annum

The applicant should be a part of the First year of Degree level course OR Second year of Degree level course through lateral entry in any of the AICTE approved Institution of the respective year.

A specially-abled student having a disability of not less than 40% can apply for a scholarship.

Family income including all sources during the current financial year should not be more than Rs. 8 lakh per annum. A valid income certificate issued by the State /UT Government needs to be enclosed while applying.

Pragati Scholarship 2020: Know in Detail

AICTE implemented the Scheme to ensure assistance for the development of Girls pursuing technical education. Today education is considered one of the crucial ways of empowering women with the knowledge, skill, and inner confidence required to participate fully in the development process. 

This is a chance to allow young women the opportunity to further educate themselves and prepare for a successful future by “Technical Education- a step towards empowerment”.

Pragati Scholarship: Eligibility Criteria

  • Part of the First year of Degree level course OR Second year of Degree level
  • Maximum two-girl child per family
  • Family income was not more than Rs. 8 lakh per annum

1) The girl candidate must be enrolled in the First year of Degree level course OR Second year of Degree level course through lateral entry in any of the AICTE approved Institution of the respective year.

2) A maximum two-girl child per family is eligible for applying for the scholarship.

3) The Family income including all sources during the current financial year should not be more than Rs. 8 lakh per annum. A valid income certificate issued by the State/ UT Government needs to be enclosed while applying.
