DRDO Announces Girls’ Scholarship Scheme in Engineering 2020, Apply by Nov 15

Aeronautics Research and Development Board (ARDB), DRDO has launched the “DRDO Scholarship Scheme for Girls”. Registration for which are ongoing and the last date is scheduled for November 15, 2020.

This scheme by Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) is aimed at attracting women from different institutes across the country and tap talents through a transparent process. DRDO has announced of granting a total of 30 scholarships worth INR 42 lakh, this year.

DRDO Scholarship for Girls Scheme 2020: Details 

As a fact, DRDO invites applications from first-year BE, B.Tech or BSc (Engineering) and ME, M.Tech or M.Sc (Engineering) for 2020-21. Interested candidates can apply at the official website: https://rac.gov.in. 

DRDO Scholarship for Girls 2020: Eligibility

Eligibility criteria are undergraduate scholarship are as follows:

• Candidates need to be Indian nationals.
• Candidates should have appeared in JEE Main and have valid JEE Main score
• Candidates are required to have admission in BE, B.Tech and B.Sc.Engineering in the academic year 2020-21.

Eligibility criteria for postgraduate scholarships are as follows:

• Candidates need to be Indian nationals.
• Candidates should have a valid GATE score
• Candidates are required to have admission in ME, B.Tech and M.Sc.Engineering in the academic year 2020-21.
• Candidates should have scored a CGPA/CPI of 6.75 or 60% in BE/B.Tech/B.Engg.

DRDO Girl Scholarship 2020: Selection Process

The selection process is specified separately for Undergraduate and Postgraduate candidates.

• For 4-Years Undergraduate (B.Tech, B.E, BSc.Engg) scholarship, candidates will be selected based on merit that is, JEE Main score.
• For 2-Years, fulltime Postgraduate (ME, M.Tech, M.Sc.Engg) scholarship, candidates are selected on GATE score.

DRDO Girl Scholarship 2020: Documents Required

Candidates need to ensure they have the following documents for applying:

1. Scanned copy of each of the requisite certificates with an online scholarship application.
2. Recent passport size colour photograph (max. size 50 KB)
3. Aadhaar Card (max 500 KB)
4. Admission Proof (max 500 KB)
5. Fees Details (max 500 KB)
6. Certificate from Institute (max 500 KB)

DRDO Girl Scholarship 2020: How to Apply Online?

Follow these steps to apply for DRDO Girls Scheme 2020:

1. Visit the official website: https://rac.gov.in
2. From the home page, click on ‘Apply Online’ link
3. Candidates have to register at first with a valid email address and phone number.
4. After registration is over, fill in all the details.
5. Upload all the required documents.
6. Submit application and keep a printed copy for future reference.

DRDO Girl Scholarship 2020: Important Instructions for Grantee

During the course of scholarship, students need to pass each exam with CGPA 7.0 or 70%. The scholarship amount will not be disbursed in case students do not pass any of the qualifying exams for receiving a scholarship of that year. 

A list of qualified candidates for DRDO scholarship will be forwarded by ARDB of DRDO to grantee institutions. Added to this, students recommended for discontinuity of scholarship will also be forwarded to ARDB by institutes.
