AICTE Revised Academic Calendar Released: PGDM Classes From July 15, Technical Courses From Aug 17

All India Council for Technical Education, AICTE has released the revised academic calendar for the academic session 2020-21. 

As per the new guidelines, classes for the new batch of PGDM courses will commence from August 10 2020. While for the existing batches classes will begin from 15 July 2020.

Furthermore, AICTE has said that classes for technical courses for existing students except PGDM/PGCM will begin from 17 Aug 2020.

The new directives by AICTE came after the University Grant Commission (UGC) issued Revised Guidelines for Conducting Examinations for Final year students and academic calendar for all universities, in view of the current situation.

However, the State of Rajasthan and Maharashtra opposed the revised guidelines of UGC and have said that conducting examinations is not feasible in the situation.

Previously, UGC asked institutions to begin classes in online, offline mode or in blended mode (Online + Offline) as it is the need of the hour.

Moreover, AICTE has also mentioned that the academic calendar may further change if required due to COVID-19 or by guidelines issued by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, MHA and Ministry of Human Resource Development.
