KTU Kerala: Since the Kerala Government has allowed the reopening of Kerala engineering colleges, APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) has taken the decision to commence its classes from January 4, 2021.

Government has made sure that the Kerala colleges and universities follow the SOPs issued by the central and state government to reopen the Institutes. KTU Kerala has scheduled classes to be held in rotational shifts with 50% attendance only. Classes for Kerala Engineering Colleges will be held on Saturdays as well, from 8.30 AM - 5.30 PM.

The university will be commencing classes for 3rd semester MTech, MArch and MPlan programs, 7th Semester for BTech, 9th semester of Integrated MCA, BArch programs on January 4, 2021. 

AKTU will also conduct classes for 5th semester BTech, BHMCT and BArch programs on January 16 and 7th semester Integrated MCA and BArch from January 18. The classes will be continued till February 6, 2021.

Also 3rd semester MCA and Integrated MCA, BTech, BHMCT, BDes, BArch and BTech Lateral entry classes will be started from February 1 to 20. 

AKTU is planning to start it's First-semester graduation classes from March 13 while Postgraduate classes will commence on February 22 and will be ending on March 6, 2021. 

After completion of the contact classes, the varsity intends to conduct the term-end semester exams during the month of February and March. The university has also issued a circular stating college study tours will be reduced to ensure social distancing.

To prevent the risk of spreading Coronavirus, the students and teachers belonging from containment zones will not be required to attend the classes. For those students, the varsity will provide online classes and e-materials to complete the course curriculum. 

This facility will be used for international students as well who are not able to attend colleges because of travel restrictions.
