2.68 lakh students have opted to be transferred to Government schools under the education reforms of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy.
The Chief Minister's office stated that around 2.68 lakh students applied to transfer from private schools to government schools.
In the Government/ Government aided schools of Andhra Pradesh, over 42.46 lakh students have enrolled.
In 2019, the enrollment figure is 39.78 lakhs for government/ government aided schools. The enrollment figure of 2020 observed an increase of 2.68 lakh students compared to the previous year.

The excess number of student/ parent-oriented schemes implemented since 2019 is the reason behind the Government’s success in reversing the trend.
The Chief Minister's Office (CMO) stated that to place Government schools at par with their corporate counterparts, Jagananna Ammavodi, Nadu-Nedu, and Jaganna Vidya Kanuka form the base of the Government’s drive.

The CMO also stated that the students and parents preferred private schools over government run or aided schools because of the major infrastructural lapse and negligence of the previous government.
The present government took over the educational reforms in May 2019. It aimed at uplifting the standard of education imparted at Government schools and reversed the trend.
Statistics also revealed the immaculate results yielding because of the efforts of the Government in this direction.
