Andhra Pradesh, Assam, and Uttrakhand along with Kendriya Vidyalaya and Navodaya Vidyalaya have reopened the schools on November 2, 2020.
The guidelines and SOPs to be followed for each state came on November 2, after 7 months since the pandemic lockdown.
The state government also released SOPs for their respective states in addition to the education and health minister's school reporting guidelines and SOPs.

Under lockdown 5, schools in India were reopened in various states on September 22 and October 15, 2020. This is the third phase and guidelines for reopening of schools in different parts of India were issued.
In this phase states like Andhra Pradesh, Assam and Uttarakhand were allowed to reopen schools under some limitations.
The guidelines are designed by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
According to the SOPs shared by the Education Ministry and Health Ministry for reopening the schools, the schools will have to follow social distancing, proper hygiene, and Voluntary attendance.
Most of the states have given permission only for the students of 9-12 classes. States also shared some additional guidelines adding to the guidelines issued by the Central Government.

The following section gives the guidelines and SOPs issued by Andhra Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Assam, and Uttarakhand Government on reopening schools
Andhra Pradesh School Reopening Guidelines and SOPs
- Schools will be reopened for classes 9 to 12 following all the safety precautions.
- Schools will be conducted for students on alternative days for classes 9 and 10 from 9:15 am to 1:45 pm.
- Maximum 16 students should be In a classroom
- Schools will be conducted only for half a day and online classes will be continued after school time in the afternoon
- The academic year has extended till April 30

Himachal Pradesh School Reopening Guidelines and SOPs
- HP Schools will be reopened for classes 10 - 12 from November 2, 2020.
- Students who wish to attend should bring a consent letter from parents
- Attendance should not be made compulsory
- Schools should follow the safety precautions issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Assam School Reopening Guidelines and SOPs
- The Assam schools will begin from November 2 for class 6 and above
- The class will be starting in the morning and proper distancing among students will be maintained.
- Classrooms, common areas, and toilets will be cleaned and sanitized properly
- The Education Ministry has instructed to provide iron and folic tablets to students to boost their energy and immunity.

Uttarakhand School Reopening Guidelines and SOPs
- Uttarakhand schools will start for classes 10-12
- Parental consent mandatory for attendance
- No homework will be given to students
- Making students comfortable in the classroom will be prioritized in the first 3 weeks
Many states have already started schools and many are planning to start from this November.
