Arunachal Pradesh Directorate of Higher & Technical Education has opened registration for diploma admission 2026. Online registration from April 24 to May 30, 2026 at apdhte.nic.in.

The Arunachal Pradesh Directorate of Higher & Technical Education (APDHTE) has opened online registration for diploma admission 2026. Eligible candidates can register online from April 24 to May 30, 2026 through the official portal apdhte.nic.in. This year, the APJEE (Arunachal Pradesh Joint Entrance Examination) was not conducted, hence admissions to polytechnic diploma courses are based on merit in Class 10 examination. The merit list will be published on June 5, 2026. Seat allotment will be conducted in two rounds with first round allotment on June 16, 2026 and second round on July 3, 2026.
The Arunachal Pradesh State Council for Technical Education (APSCTE) will conduct the online counselling for nomination of candidates in various diploma courses offered by polytechnics across the state. Selection of candidates will be based on merit in the qualifying examination of Class X. The admission process includes online registration, merit list generation, choice filling, and seat allotment. Candidates must pass Class X with English, Science, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects for engineering diploma courses. For Travel & Tourism Management diploma, candidates need to pass Class X without mandatory science and mathematics requirements.

Eligibility Criteria for Diploma Admission 2026
Candidates must have passed Class X from a government-recognized board to be eligible for diploma admission. All Arunachal Pradesh Scheduled Tribe (APST) candidates are eligible to apply. Children of Non-APST employees of State Government, Central Government, and Central Public Sector Undertakings serving in Arunachal Pradesh are eligible. All others residing in Arunachal Pradesh for the last 3 years or more and who have passed Class X from schools within Arunachal Pradesh are eligible.
For engineering diploma courses (Civil, Computer Science, Electrical, Mechanical), candidates must have passed Class X with English, Science, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. For Travel & Tourism Management diploma, candidates need to pass Class X without mandatory science and mathematics requirements. Candidates with PwD (Person with Disability) status must produce a certificate from a competent Medical Board. The candidate must be capable of undergoing the course with their physical condition.
How to Register for Diploma Admission 2026?
- Visit the official portal at apdhte.nic.in on your web browser.
- Click on "Online Registration" or "Diploma 2026 Registration" link.
- Fill in your personal details including name, gender, category, and PwD status.
- Enter your subject-wise marks obtained in Class X examination.
- Upload required documents including photograph, signature, and Class X marks card.
- Upload category certificate (APST certificate for APST candidates or Government Employment Certificate for Non-APST).
- Upload PwD certificate if applicable.
- Pay the registration fee (INR 500 for APST, INR 700 for Non-APST) through online payment.
- Submit your registration form after verification.
- Download and print the acknowledgement for future reference.
- Login again using your credentials to fill choices after merit list publication.
- Select your preferred diploma courses and institutions in order of preference.
Merit List Generation and Seat Allotment
The merit list will be prepared based on marks obtained in the five best-scoring subjects in Class X examination. Candidates passing in English, Mathematics, and Science are eligible for all diploma courses. In case of a tie, the candidate with more marks in Science and Mathematics will be ranked higher. If there is a further tie, the older student will be ranked higher than the younger candidate.
Seat allotment will be done in two rounds. In the first round, seats will be allotted based on merit and candidate's choice preferences. Candidates can freeze the allotment if satisfied or opt for float to participate in the second round for upgradation. In the second round, seats will be allotted against available vacancies. No fresh registrations or choice filling will be permitted in the second round.

Reservation Policy and Seat Distribution
The seat distribution follows the state government's reservation policy with 20% seats for Category-I (OPEN) and 80% seats for Category-II (APST). From the total seats in engineering diploma courses, 5% seats are reserved for PwD candidates. If the number of registered PwD candidates is less than available seats, PWD seats will be converted to non-PWD seats. Various polytechnic colleges across Arunachal Pradesh offer diploma courses including Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Travel & Tourism Management.
Important Documents Required
Candidates must upload scanned copies of photograph (10-100 KB in JPG format) and signature (10-100 KB in JPG format). Class X marks card, category certificate, and PwD certificate (if applicable) must be uploaded. At the time of admission, candidates must submit original documents including pass certificate, mark-sheet, school leaving certificate, character certificate, and employment certificate of parents. Candidates should keep all documents ready for submission during the admission process at their allotted polytechnic college.
