BHU to Hold Terminal Semester Exams in Open Book Format; Check Details Here

Banaras Hindu University has made the decision to hold the final year exams 2020 in the form of Open Book Exam Format.

As per the latest update by BHU, terminal semesters exams will be held online in remote proctored manner and students will be allowed to use or refer to books and other resource materials while appearing for the open book examination.

Regarding this, the varsity also released a notification which confirmed that the Final Semester Exams 2020 for the terminal semester students will be held in Open Book Exam Format in online mode.

The notification released by the varsity also clarifies that he OBE Online format has been adopted as an alternative to the pen-paper based test.

Furthermore, the varsity has also said that the unique grading and assessment option has been adopted as a one-time measure owing to the prevailing situation due to coronavirus pandemic.

BHU OBE Exam 2020 - Exam Pattern and Format

The BHU Open Book Examination 2020 will be held for all courses and all components of assessment, which will include theory question papers, projects, dissertations, practicals with assignments and viva-voice will be held online.

The question paper for theory papers will consist of 8 questions of which students will be required to answer any four. Each question will be of 17.5 marks and the total marks will be 70.

While the time duration for the examination will be 4 hours in which candidates will be required to download the question paper, scan and upload completed answer sheets.

The varsity has also provided an additional 2 hours time duration, i.e. a total of 6 hours to students with disabilities for completing the examination.
