Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has decided to reschedule the CA November 2020 exam for Bihar candidates as it is coinciding with the Bihar State Assembly Elections 2020. ICAI will revise the exam schedule and release it soon on its official website.
The CA Exam was previously scheduled from November 1 to 18. Recently the Election committee has announced the date for the State assembly election which comes around the same time.
In the press conference held on September 25, the Election Commission of India has announced the schedule of General Election to the legislative assembly of the state of Bihar. The election is to be held on October 28, November 1, and November 7, 2020. Since the CA Exams have been scheduled to take place from November 1 - 18, 2020, ICAI decided to reschedule the exam dates of CA for Bihar candidates.

CA Exams 2020 clashes with Bihar elections
ICAI has already postponed the CA May 2020 examination and merged it with the November 2020 examination cycle. Considering the COVID 19 pandemic situation, ICAI also extended the registration validity by one year, for CA May 2020 candidates. After the announcement of the Bihar state election dates, ICAI has released a notice stating that they are taking steps to prevent the clash of election dates with CA exams 2020. The notice about ICAI considering to change the exam schedule was released on the official website of ICAI.

The notice released by ICAI stated, “The students who have opted for the examination centre from the state of Bihar and other stakeholders may please note that the Institute has taken note of the schedule of election and shall take needful appropriate steps to ensure interests of its students appearing from the examination centres from the state of Bihar.”
