CBSE Schools Conclude First Term Session With Online Exams; Check Details Here

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) schools in Madurai, Tamil Nadu have successfully concluded the first term sessions of the academic year 2020-21 through the online classes and online examinations. 

These CBSE schools are now all set to commence their second term for the academic year 2020-21. 

Every year, the CBSE first term exams are completed within the September and October month. However, this year, due to the impact of COVID-19 pandemic, these exams have been conducted lately. 

Although it's not mandatory for the schools to conduct the exams, according to the directives issued by the government. Still the schools conducted the exams through the online mode to test the student's academic performances.

CBSE First Term Exams Conducted in MCQs Format

Shuba Manikandan, the principal at Mahatma Montessori CBSE schools said that the first term exams were conducted for all the students. 

The exams were conducted in MCQs format for 50 marks through the online mode and the remaining 50 marks will be awarded on the basis of assignments and activities done by the students.

The other schools also conducted simple tests by asking the students to write and upload the scanned images of their answer scripts online or via WhatsApp. 

A parent of a class IX student said that even though it's not mandatory for the schools to conduct the online exams, they did conduct the online exams so that the students make an effort to study, instead of skipping the online classes.

End of First Term Assessment 

The director of academics at Queen Mira International School, Sujata Guptan stated that the school conducted the first term assessment in an online mode along with the parents-teachers conference. 

Further, she said that the school is flexible in conducting assessments, this year. Although, the online classes are being held for the students, complete comprehension can't be expected from them. 

This year, the CBSE schools had prepared the assessments in such a way that a student can be engaged in creative activities. 

The teachers at the Kendriya Vidyalaya School said that the portions are being completed through the online classes and activities.
