IIT Bombay has opened CEED 2027 registration at ceedapp.iitb.ac.in. Candidates can apply with the regular fee until October 31, 2026. The late fee window closes on November 6. The exam will be held on January 17, 2027.
The Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) has opened the Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED) 2027 registration on the official portal at ceedapp.iitb.ac.in. The application window started at 5 pm on October 1, 2026. Candidates can submit the form with the regular fee until October 31, 2026.
Applicants who miss the regular window may still apply with a late fee between November 1 and November 6, 2026. The late fee submission closes at 5 pm on the last date. CEED is the national entrance exam for admission to postgraduate design programmes across participating institutes.
As per the official notification, the CEED 2027 examination will be held on January 17, 2027 (Sunday). The paper will run from 9 am to 12 noon in a single session. The admit card will be released on ceed.iitb.ac.in from January 1, 2027.

CEED 2027 Application Fee
The application fee varies by category and gender. Female candidates and reserved category applicants pay a reduced fee. All candidates must pay the fee through online modes such as net banking, debit card, credit card, or UPI.

Who Is Eligible to Apply for CEED 2027?
CEED 2027 is open to candidates who meet any one of the following conditions. The eligibility criteria are set by IIT Bombay for the current cycle.
- Completed a degree, diploma or postgraduate programme of at least 3 years after Class 12.
- Appearing for the final examination of a qualifying programme by July 2027.
- Passed a 5-year Government Diploma in Art by July 2027.
CEED 2027 Exam Pattern
The exam has two parts and both are compulsory. Part A is a computer-based objective test with NAT, MCQ and MSQ questions. It checks visual perception, reasoning and design sensitivity.
Part B is a drawing and writing test attempted in a physical answer book. It carries five questions on design, drawing and writing skills. The final score uses the formula: 0.25 x Part A marks + 0.75 x Part B marks.
How to Apply for CEED 2027?
Candidates must register through the official application portal only. The process is fully online and requires scanned documents in the prescribed format.
- Visit the official application portal at ceedapp.iitb.ac.in.
- Register with a valid email ID and mobile number.
- Fill in personal, academic and category details in the application form.
- Upload the photograph, signature and required certificates.
- Pay the application fee through net banking, debit card, credit card or UPI.
- Submit the form and download the confirmation page for future reference.
Where Can Candidates Appear for CEED 2027?
The exam will be conducted in 30 cities across India. The list includes Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai and Kolkata. Candidates must select their preferred city during registration.
A valid CEED score is the gateway to M.Des. and Ph.D. programmes at 11 IITs, IISc Bengaluru and IIITDM institutes. The score remains valid for one year. Qualified candidates can apply to multiple participating institutes using the same scorecard.
