Delhi University will release 5 merit list with three days of application window - DU Admission 2020

At the webinar conducted by Delhi University on June 23, 2020, Shobha Bagai, Dean of Admissions, confirmed that the university will release 5 cutoff lists, this year.

All the cutoffs will be published on the official website of Delhi University Admissions 2020 along with online portals of its affiliated colleges. The statement also confirmed that students will be able to check cutoffs from the leading newspapers as well.

As per press release by Delhi University, the first cutoff list will be active to apply, for 3 days of its release. 

In case students miss out on it, they can apply further, to the same or any other college without new registrations. The college will verify documents and check the cutoffs of applicants for confirmation.

However, another special cutoff list will be published after the fifth list is released. Last year, Delhi University released 8 cutoff lists whereas, in 2018, about 11 cutoff lists were out.

Talking about registrations, this year, Delhi University reached new strides, as a record 57,000 applicants registered in just 24 hours for its varied UG, PG and PhD courses, starting 21 June at 5 pm.

DU Admission 2020: Procedure Details

As of now, students can check their admission status or whether they are selected from the dashboard by logging into their personal accounts.

If students are selected, they have to pay the DU Admission 2020 fee and accept the seat. In case admission is rejected all the necessary and specific reasons will be cited.

There may be a situation wherein, students would prefer for admission through the second cutoff list. In such cases, they have to at first cancel the admission on the first cut off list.

After this, they can select courses and colleges from the second cutoff list but students do not require registrations again.

Considering social distancing norms, DU had earlier scrapped trials for ECA and Sports category admissions

An additional change has been made regarding reservations. Students with domicile in Delhi will not have reserved seats. As a fact, domicile certificates will not be required for this year of DU Admissions. 

Delhi University will not accept EWS and OBC certificates issued by the state government. Students have to apply online and avail OBC Certificate issued by the central government during the same financial year.
