The shortcomings and problems that existed on the old website are now taken care of on the newly launched website. Allahabad University’s Vice-Chancellor, RR Tiwari, launched this website at a function held on 17th August 2020 at the university.
The newly developed website includes a two-level authentication security feature as the previous version of the website lacked in admin security. Also, there was no cache system and no page compression which led to the slow performance of the website.
As informed by the public relations officer (PRO) of AU, Shailendra Mishra, the newly refurbished website contains two-level authentication and a re-written dashboard so that it is not visible to the public.
The website now works on AJAX technologies and CDN features to make the user experience better on the website. The AJAX technologies introduced will improve the dynamic content display on the website, whereas CDN will help in providing fast delivery of internet content to the viewer.
The university website has also introduced an E-newsletter feature for new updates along with videos, backside images, floating buttons, new theme, and updated backend to support the website. A new “Contact US” page has been created for students, parents, media, etc.
The website also contains the Alumni portal for students to connect from different corners of the world. The portal is integrated with the main website of the university. Till now, a total of 155 alumni have registered themselves providing their valuable feedback which the university is working upon.
