Allahabad University to commence online classes from 17th August
Allahabad University is set to begin its online classes from August 17.
A meeting was held regarding the same on Allahabad University’s campus following which the heads of the departments have been asked to submit a detailed time table of online classes.
The classes are to be conducted by teaching faculty, research scholars, and post-doctoral students. The departments will also be required to provide contact details such as email addresses and mobile numbers of each student attending online classes.
The letter signed by the AU registrar Prof N K Shukla states that the heads of the departments will be preparing the time-table and notify students about the same latest by 15th July with the assistance of all the JRFs/SRFs/postdocs/research scholars to allocate the courses.
Students at Allahabad University have also expressed their disapproval for the conduct of examinations after the university decided to follow UGC’s decision to conduct all examinations within the month of September. UGC had previously issued guidelines for all universities to follow the same.
The examinations for UG and PG courses were set to begin on the 17th of August following Allahabad University’s acceptance of UGC guidelines.
On Wednesday, several students performed a protest by participating in a purification yajna. Several students also took part in the protest by addressing a letter to the President in protest against the UGC Guidelines.
Along with this, a fax was sent to the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) and UGC to demand for cancellation of examinations. Avinash Yadav of NSAUI also said that the government of Rajasthan, Punjab and Maharashtra had accepted the demands that they had put forth.
