Haryana Government Introduces Online Admission Platform for UG Courses 

Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar launched an online platform for admission in Undergraduate courses for the academic session 2020-21. 

Keeping in view the health concerns while seeking admission in colleges amid COVID-19, the Haryana government has initiated a step through which the students can abstain from pandemic risk and take admissions from the comfort of their homes.

The admission process for various UG courses in Haryana Government, government-aided and self-financing colleges has commenced from September 7, 2020. 

The online admission platform was launched virtually and the event witnessed the presence of Haryana Education Minister Kanwar Pal, Principal Secretary Ankur Gupta and Director General of Higher Education Department Ajit Balaji Joshi.

Haryana Government has also waived off the registration and prospectus fee for undergraduate courses. Despite this, an educational WhatsApp chatbot named as 'Apka Mitra' has also been launched. The chatbot is created to resolve admission related queries of students. Students having any admission related concern can contact at 18001373735 and those with disabilities can get assistance at 7419444449. 

The Haryana Government also said in a statement, "We have to make sure more focus is given on research and for that, more and more colleges and Universities have been opened in Haryana. Along with education, skilling is equally important and for that Shri Vishwakarma Skill University has been opened."

Various initiatives have been taken in recent years by the Haryana Government like setting up colleges within a radius of 15 km and providing a financial boost to the education sector in the budget 2020-21. The government now aims to open colleges within a radius of 10 km in the state. Read more
