The Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Lucknow will commence the academic session for the first year Postgraduate program (PGP) from August 3, 2020.

IIM Lucknow director, Archana Shukla said, "Our new session will start from August 3, 2020. We will start with the online classes as students cannot be called to the campus due to the pandemic situation. We are trying to fine-tune many things to ensure proper teaching without any disruption."

She further added that online is the new normal nowadays. PGP final year classes started from the second week of July and the varsity is now looking forward to welcoming the first year PGP students early next month.

One of the IIM Lucknow Professor Shukla said about the makeover of lost teaching hours, "There are many ways of doing this. We may have to cut down the term break, vacations, and other holidays. Also if required, the summer internship may start later. Similarly, convocation may be delayed a little. We have to adjust as our academic session progresses."

The IIM Lucknow first year PGP batch comprises 450 students. Earlier on May 23, 2020, the institute released the list of selected candidates who appeared in the virtual interview.

Shukla also said, "We will start the online remedial sessions for the first year. We have to avoid an influx of students on campus initially so that the social distancing is maintained. The normal regular classes will start once the government advisory approves it."
