Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Lucknow has revised the fee for its two-year Post-Graduate Programme (PGP) in Managament.

An increment of 36% has been made in the fee by IIM Lucknow. Following the introduction, the course fee of PGP in Management is now around 19 lakh INR which was earlier 14 lakh INR.

However, the hike is only applicable to the new batches and students in the second year of the programme will follow the previous fee structure.

Following the decision, some aspirants are unhappy with the sudden increase in fee as financial constraints worry many currently.

“A direct 36% increase in the fee is totally irresponsible on the part of the authorities at IIM Lucknow in times of Covid-19. Despite various directives from the government disallowing any fee hike this year, the fee has been hiked by such a huge amount while no other IIMs have increased the fees for this academic year,” said an aspirant.

As per the institution, “The decision on fee revision for the batch commencing in 2020 is not sudden and was taken in a board meeting held in June 2019 as such decisions are taken well before the start of the admission process for the next year.”

The institute also highlighted the fact that “ IIM Lucknow had rolled back its fee in 2013 by 10% from Rs 12 lakh to Rs 10.8 lakh. It was only in 2016 that the fee was revised again to Rs 14 lakh and is now being hiked after four years.”

Earlier, IIM Lucknow and IIM Indore eliminated the weightage of the written ability test round for calculating the final score of the candidates for final shortlisting.
