IIT Kanpur Hosts Arthashashtra 2023 on November 24- 25

New Delhi: The Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IITK) recently hosted Arthashashtra 2023 from November 24 to 25, 2023, an annual conference based on economics, business, and finance. The event brought together respected dignitaries from various industries to discuss on important topics like globalization, technological advancements, changes in work patterns, financial shifts, leadership dynamics, banking stability, and how India's economy stands strong amidst global uncertainties.

Regarding the conference, Prof. S. Ganesh, Director of IIT Kanpur said, “IIT Kanpur has always emphasized fostering meaningful interactions between academia and industry, facilitating collaborative initiatives, research partnerships, and knowledge exchange to bridge the gap between theoretical insights and practical applications. Arthashashtra-2023 has proved to be a valuable platform for knowledge exchange and discussion on critical economic, business, and financial issues. The insights shared by industry experts will undoubtedly contribute to a better understanding of these complex topics.”

The conference featured multiple sessions and panel discussions led by various industry experts. Mr. Rajan Sethuraman, CEO of Letentview Analytics, led a session on the AI-driven economy, guided by Mr. Brahma Konda Reddy from IIT Kanpur's eMasters program. Mr. Nilesh Shah, Managing Director of Kotak Asset Management Co. Ltd., explored the challenges of deglobalization and potential opportunities for Indian markets.

Another session focused on technology-enabled innovation and its relationship with policies and regulations. Participants like Mr. Kanishk from Uber, Mr. Pavit Singh Katoch from Inshorts, Ms. Swati Aggarwal from SAM, and Mr. Shashank Mishra from IIT Kanpur's eMasters program discussed the possibilities during this insightful session.

The conference concluded with a speech from Professor Viral Acharya, formerly with the Reserve Bank of India and now at New York University, Stern. He emphasized global banking stability following the Silicon Valley Bank collapse and stressed the importance of partnerships between academia and industry in addressing today's complex economic challenges. This gathering served as a platform for experts to exchange ideas and strategies crucial for navigating the evolving economic landscape.
