IIT Kharagpur: Applications Opened For Online Training Program on Agri and Food Tech-based Entrepreneurship

Indian Institute of Technology has opened the application process for the online training program for farmers and entrepreneurs. The online training program at IIT Kharagpur is organized by the Institute's Agri-Business Incubation Center.

IIT Kharagpur has introduced an online training program to promote self-sustainable Agri production and processing with available technologies and Agri and food tech-based entrepreneurship among rural youth.

The application process is open now and the last date to apply for the online training program at IIT Kharagpur is December 5, 2020.

Topics to be Studied

Candidates who are participating in the online training program offered at IIT Kharagpur would learn the following topics from the experts of the institute:

• Biofuels and biogas for rural electrification 
• Importance of soil testing for crop production
• Organic farming and vermicomposting
• Farm implements and equipment operation
• Micro-irrigation and protected cultivation
• Small scale processing of fruits and vegetables
• Bakery
• Confectionary 
• Ready-to-eat foods

Candidates who are interested to participate should submit a Google form mentioning their name, WhatsApp number, and address for communication.

The online training program at IIT Kharagpur is scheduled to be held on December 7 to 17, 2020 from Monday to Saturday, 4 pm to 6 pm.

The participants who are shortlisted for the online training program at IIT Kharagpur would be provided with the link to join the training session on December 6, 2020.

Agri-Food Business Incubation Centre IIT Kharagpur (AFBIC IIT KGP) is a cell with innovation and agripreneurship which supports agribusiness incubation.

The center provided support by exploring technological innovations for venture creation in agriculture and allied fields.

AFBIC at IIT Kharagpur had the objective to strengthen the start-up ecosystem in Agri-food and allied sectors.

It facilitates access to technology, domain experts, and a grant-in-aid for product and process innovation to promote agripreneurship.
