IIT Madras: Applications Invited for Two New Online Courses on Artificial Intelligence on NPTEL; Check Details Here

Indian Institute of Technology Madras is inviting applications for two newly introduced 12 week-long courses on artificial intelligence (AI). The new free-online courses will commence from January 18 to April 09, 2021.

IIT Madras has launched two online courses on artificial intelligence naming Constraint Satisfaction and Knowledge Representation and Reasoning. The courses are offered to everyone who is interested to learn about the subject.

Interested candidates can register for both the courses made available on the official website of the SWAYAM National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL).

Professor Deepak Khemani, Department of Computer Science and Engineering at IIT Madras will be conducting the newly introduced AI courses.

Although the new courses are provided free of cost, the applicants will have to pay a fee of INR 1000 in order to take the exam and obtain the e-certificate. IIT Madras and NPTEL will provide the e-certificate to the candidates who have applied for the newly introduced online courses.

The main aim of the two newly launched courses to equip learners with knowledge on problem-solving using artificial intelligence.

The AI course will prove beneficial for UG and PG students such as BE, ME, MS, M.Sc, Ph.D., and who have taken up computer science. Interested applicants must have some knowledge of formal languages, logic, and programming.

IIT Madras Artificial Intelligence Courses: How to Register?

Interested candidates are required to study the details of the course available on the NPTEL homepage before registering for the same.

Candidates can register for the Artificial Intelligence courses by following the below instructions.:

Step 1: Visit the NPTEL official website @onlinecourses.nptel.ac.in

Step 2: On the homepage, click on the link “Join AI course”.

Step 3: On the next window ‘Sign Up’ using the User name, password, and email address.

Step 4: An OTP will be sent to the registered email id.

Step 5: Once entered the correct OTP, click on submit.

The newly introduced courses at IIT Madras will provide knowledge on the various subjects. Some examples of the subjects are:

•  Introduction, Propositional Logic
• Syntax and Semantics
• Constraint satisfaction problems (CSP)
• Search methods for solving CSPs
• CSP look-ahead methods
• CSP Dynamic variable and value ordering
• Proof Systems
• Natural Deduction
• Tableau Method
• Resolution Method

Professor Deepak Khemani has impeccable experience and knowledge. He has completed his B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering. Also, he has studied M.Tech and Ph.D. in Computer Science from IIT Bombay. After the completion of his education, he has been a professor at IIT Madras.
