The four-day tech fest will consist of 13 competitions and various other events which will give the students the opportunity to showcase their problem-solving skills in front of industry experts.
New Delhi: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras is conducting the 12th Edition of the annual Inter-IIT Tech Meet from December 9-12, 2023. Over 1,000 students from multiple IITs have participated in the fest. This is the first time after COVID-19 pandemic that IIT Madras is conducting a fully offline tech fest.
The Tech Fest at IIT Madras consists of 13 competitions such as product management, quantum computing, game development, mathematics, and cybersecurity. It will also include events related to ‘Viksit Bharat@2047’ initiative.
Through the competitions the students will be tested on their technical skills of solving real-world problems in the world of robotics, Artificial Intelligence, finance and many other fields. Students will get the opportunity to present their ideas and innovations infront of industry professionals through this four day event.
Speaking about this annual event, Professor Satyanaranya Gummadi, Dean (Students), IIT Madras, said, “We are happy to host the Inter-IIT Tech Meet at IIT Madras, and I am sure this four-day event will create an opportunity for the students to learn different things for their career goals. This is also an opportunity for the like-minded students from different IITs who can also interact and create networking activity among the brightest minds.”
Appreciating the efforts of IIT Madras students organising the event, Professor V Sriram, Faculty Advisor (Co-curricular Activities), IIT Madras, said, “It is really amazing to see the young bright minds of the next generation goes beyond the classroom and showcase their potential for the industry-related problems that are need of the hour.”
Professor Nilanjan Saha, Convenor of the Inter-IIT Tech meet, said, “This meet will bring out solutions of the real-world challenges from the best students within IITs that have a profound impact on environment and society. This will potentially inspire young entrepreneurs to drive innovation by understanding emerging technologies.”
Schedule of IIT Madras Inter -IIT Tech Fest 2023
19th December 2023: Three panels of the Students’ Academic Conference, with focus on mechanical engineering, manufacturing, civil engineering, nano-tech, bio-tech and robotics. Competitive student presentations on Quantum computing.
20th December 2023: 2 panels of the Students’ Academic Conference, with a focus on Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Electronics, Physics and Maths. Competitive student presentations on chiplet design and game development. Industry presentations by Jaguar Land Rover and Trumio.
21st December 2023: The Engineers’ Conclave, showcasing 50 projects and prototypes built across the IITs. Competitive student presentations on quantitative finance, and cryptocurrency trading. Session by the company Aptos, about the domain of blockchain.
22nd December 2023: Competitive student presentations on artificial intelligence and natural language processing, followed by the announcement of the winners of the Tech Meet.
