IIT Madras Introduces Certificate Program in Operation and Supply Chain Analytics; Apply by September 20

New Delhi: The Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) has introduced a new certificate programme on ‘Operations and Supply Chain Analytics for Strategic Decision Making’. The objective of this new certificate program is to equip managers with the skills necessary to make crucial decisions informed by data and available information. 

As per the statement made by IIT Madras, the program will be delivered through the institute's Centre for Outreach and Digital Education (CODE). The registration for the same will conclude on September 20, 2023. 

Further, the curriculum will start by establishing analytical fundamentals in its initial segments (modules 1 and 2), and will delve deeply into practical applications within module 3. As a result, this program provides a holistic viewpoint on the majority of operational and supply chain challenges confronted by the industry today.

IIT Madras Certificate Program in Operations and Supply Chain Analytics: Highlights 

This program expects a fundamental understanding of mathematical and statistical principles. While there is no specific requirement for a particular academic background, participants are encouraged to possess an affinity for constructing analytical models and making decisions based on data. 

Reframing the institute's perspective, the newly introduced certificate program provides a holistic view of the prevalent operational and supply chain challenges encountered by industries today. 

The institute further said that the curriculum concentrates on cultivating essential analytical proficiencies, encompassing optimization, game theory, probability theory, and statistical modeling, to address these challenges.

While specific eligibility prerequisites are absent, the program presupposes a fundamental grasp of mathematical and statistical concepts. A keen interest in constructing analytical models and steering data-centric decision-making is anticipated from participants.

Highlighting the necessity for such initiatives, Professor Rahul Marathe, from the Department of Management Studies at IIT Madras, said that the managers must possess the responsibility of pivotal choices grounded in accessible information and data. This elevates data-driven decision-making skills as the foremost asset in contemporary organizations. 'Decision Sciences' can equip managers with the necessary framework to make optimal decisions.

• Illustrate diverse techniques of analytical modeling. 
• Showcase the implementation of modeling in supply chain management domains 
• Explore the dynamic and uncertain aspects of supply chain management
• Construct an analytical model to address operational and supply chain challenges, employing suitable methodologies.
• Design an analytical decision-making instrument for tailoring supply chain setups in distinct industries and enterprises.

Interested candidates can go through the following steps to register for the certificate program in Operations and Supply Chain Analytics. 

Step 1: Visit the official IIT Madras website @iitm.ac.in. 

Step 2: On the homepage, click on the link that says, 'Certificate Program in Operations and Supply Chain Analytics.'

Step 3: Fill in the registration process with necessary details. 

Step 4: Then, login using the registration credentials and fill in the application form. 

Step 5: Upload the necessary documents and preview all the details submitted. 

Step 6: Finally, hit the submit button to submit it and take a printout of the form for all future needs.
