NTA has allowed students who are appearing in the same field for MPhil and PhD exams to enter one exam centre. Read Full Notification here.
The National Testing Agency ( NTA) informs students who have applied in the same field of MPhil and PhD for JNUEE 2020 have been given different MPhil/PhD centres, can now appear in either of the two exam centres allocated.
Students have voiced their challenges of going to two different examination centres to apply for the same field for the MPhil and PhD exam.
Students have been advised by the NTA that they can be at one exam centre and give the same field MPhil and PhD exam on the same day.
The JNUEE 2020 examinations will be conducted from 5 October 2020 to 8 October 2020 for all varsity programmes and courses.
JNUEE is being conducted by the NTA on behalf of Jawaharlal Nehru University ( JNU) for the 2020-21 academic year.
In March 2020, the varsity released a statement on the appearance of the MPhil and PhD paper, which is as follows,
- For MPhil and PhD programmes in the same field of study, there will be a common/single question paper (provided there is intake in both the JNUEE programme.
- The entrance examination shall be conducted on the same date and time for both programmes submitted on the same date and time, in accordance with the schedule set out in the Information Bulletin.
It also indicated that if any candidate intends to apply for these two study programmes, i.e. M.Phil. Ah. A candidate can apply for both programmes and a PhD in the same file and must appear only in one common test and try the relevant question paper (in the same field).
The marks obtained by the candidate shall, if they have chosen both, be considered in respect of both programmes.
The JNUEE 2020 examination schedule has been published online and will take place in two sessions during the day.
A morning shift and an afternoon shift will take place.
